Typical Italian eating experience

We visited theis restaurant for our evening meal and both the food and service was good, albeit quiet pricey for what you get, however this refects both Milan and the prime location of the venue - not sure if we will return may look ro find another place

Walking down Galleria Vittorio Emanuele we spotted quite a large crowd occupying ''La Locanda...'' which is normally a good sign in terms of food standards & overall atmosphere. Wrong! This place is nothing but tourist oriented, overpriced trattoria ''wish-to-be restaurant'' with very mediocre food to say the least. First of all, the waiter brought our drinks and instantly left them... More

Our daughter wanted to have her 18th Birthday meal at a restaurant within Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, we decided on this one and weren't disappointed. We dined during the evening and chose to have a table inside the restaurant, this was a good choice, we were still able to people watch but were warm and had plenty of space. The menu... More

The four of us spent the afternoon shopping at Plaza Duomo and were extremely famished by dinnertime, so as usual, we relied on Trip Advisor to lead us to a good place for dinner and ended up at this splendid restaurant. We ordered spaghetti with seafood, a pizza recommended by the senior waiter and bruschette. The spaghetti was so good... More

Found this restaurant whilst walking around on our first night in Milan and basically never left for the 3 days we were there! The best service I have ever received by Enzo and Gabry - could not do enough for us. Food was amazing along with the drinks and huge beers! Will never have a dominos or pizza hut pizza... More

It is not cheap (105 EUR for 3 people at lunch), but it is excellent - and also kind of fancy to have been eating lunch at Galleria Vittorio Emanuelle II. From we entered the door, we where greated be a great staff, no language problems, explenations about the name and the various red cats on display, great food. Actually... More

We were a little concerned when we realised that the restaurant is actually inside the Galleria Vittoria Emanuele (most listings give the tiny Via Ugo Foscolo as the address). The food was (as expected) not exactly cheap but very good, the menu was extensive, they offer a range of wines by the glass or half bottles, the decor is nice... More

This restaurant is tourist trap but you are expecting it to be a tourist tap because it is in the centre of Milano. However you are expecting delicious food in parallel with the expensive prices. The desert was delicious but Risotto was ok, nothing extraordinary about it.

There were five of us. We were hungry and tired after exploring Milan and the Galleria and were looking for somewhere welcoming and not too expensive. The food at La Locanda was elegantly presented and comparable to the much more fancier eateries across the plaza. The soup was delectable while the pizzas came hot and tasted so delicious. We had...
