a lovely out-of-town restaurant with music

Along one of the suburban canals, a few miles out of town, you can find this "Erba brusca", the name of a herb. A simple place, with friendly service and good food and wine, and a very pleasant pergola at the back; but you'll remember it for the live music they offer every evening. We had country... read more

I had dinner here recently with a group of 6. We sat on the patio with a nice view of the creek. Our dinner was fabulous! Most of us chose the 4 course tasting, but two members of our group were vegetarian so they chose to order off of the menu, none of our plates were disappointing. The dishes were... More

We stopped by this restaurant on our 25KM bike ride from Milan to the beautiful monistary of Certosa di Pavia south of milan. The restaurant was one of the few left going out of Milan so we decided for a lunch. The restaurant did not look too inviting from the outside with many closed blinds, but once inside, we were... Tucked away a little out of town this semi-rural spot is a treat. Sit inside or out (looking over their herb and vegetable garden) this young couple have created an oasis in Milanese cooking. The food is a modern and healthy twist on a Milanese diet of fresh vegetables, pasta and rice. The deserts are also worthy of mention, especially... More

The place is really nice, different from what you would expect to find in a city like Milan, but the results are not that impressive. Even if the location gives the idea of being in the countryside with an orchard next to your table, the bad smell of the canal doesn't let you enjoy the evening. For dinner we had... More

Unique environment far from the crowded Navigli. Loved the house and garden with fresh herbs and vegies. Had an amazing pasta literally covered with white truffle shavings!

It took us some 15 minutes by subway and then a short walk by one of Milan's canals to get to this wonderful restaurant. Even though they were not yet open (they open at 12 on Sunday) and they had a fully reserved morning, they were really welcoming. They served us a great coffee while they opened and we got... More

I really liked this restaurant as the food is nice and different from what you can find elsewhere. I had a good appetizer made with goose filet, green salad and poppy/sesame seeds. I continued with spaghetti with clams and truffles. I know that the combination sounds strange but believe me, the dish is very good and innovative! I ended my... More

It's clear that the American-born, French-raised owner of Erba Brusca is a devotee of the slow food movement. Her terrace-side garden brims with fresh herbs and veggies that made their way to our plates during our recent visit. Her Sunday brunch menu is spare - just four entrees or so to choose from. I opted for the eggs benedict and... More
