Great meal

We happened across this little place for lunch and really glad we stopped. We were looking for something slightly off the main tourist track (and without pictures of food outside!) and this was a great meal. We sat on the small terrace outside, but throughout our meal, locals were pouring inside... read more

There are many restaurants in Milan. For some reason - I think it is the atmosphere - I like to come here for lunch. This time I went for dinner with a colleague. It was very crowded but we found a table in the small room and not in the main restaurant. Our waiter wasn’t very friendly but perhaps he... More

This restaurant is only a short walk from Duomo cathedral and Grand Rosa hotel. It is visited by both tourists and locals. Food is fine. Resotto is highly recommended. Parma ham served with sweet melon is fantastic. Price of food in general is very reasonable.

I was in the restaurant few times in the past (during the winter season) and I noticed a decline in the food quality and service. The location is great, especially if you have to have dinner with some foreigners. Service was a bit inattentive and sometimes not at the level of the Restaurant (no English spoken). Spaghetti “ingarbugliati” (i.e. with... More

There are hundreds of restaurants near the Duomo and Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II that cater to tourists with "okay" food, so we were pleasantly surprised with an excellent lunch at Al Conte Ugolino in this area. Easily the best we had for the price in the area. We would have eaten there again but it is closed on Sunday.

We enjoyed a fine Italian dinner with a red wine from Montalcino in a welcoming atmosphere. The place is close to the Duomo and the Campari bar (passage of Vittorio Emmanuele ). Both meat and fish dishes are served, I had a nice Ossobuco.

Although the restaurant was in the city center, it is mostly preferred by local people. I think our table was the only table occupied by tourists. The serve until 1935 which shows that they have a quality standard for 80 years!! Sea food selection was nice, pasta selection was also quite satisfactory. Can be recommended for lunch..

This is a place we have been going to for over 5 years. Every time we are in Milan we go to this place. It does not look like anything on the outside and when you enter it can be very busy depending on the time. It is not unusual to wait for a table. It is very crowded inside... More

We were recommended this place by our hotel - unfortunately it turned out to be the worst restaurant experience I've ever had in Italy. Entered with my family (2 adults, 3 kids) at 8 o'clock with a reservation, the restaurant almost empty. But soon enough the tables around us started to fill up. We ordered drinks for everyone and starters,... More

Staying in Centro Storico

Neighborhood Profile
Centro Storico
The pulsating core of Milan is in Centro. Duomo Square is enclosed by the gothic cathedral, the historic icon of Milan. However, shopping is what draws most crowds to this area. The classy and versatile Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II with luxury boutiques and high quality restaurants will turn any shopping or lunch expedition into a royal experience. Head to the rooftop of the flagship La Rinascente to enjoy the view of the animated square with a panorama of the Duomo. The Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is the street for high-end shopping. Brands of all kinds and street artists attract the attention of all visitors; while at Via Santa Radegonda 16, Luini Panzerotti is a much appreciated street food shop providing unimaginable culinary experiences. If shopping takes its toll on you, consider visiting Castello Sforzesco, a 15th century castle housing several museums. Those looking to relax can go to Parco Sempione, where nature provides respite from the energy of this dynamic and international city.
