Surprisingly good

It seems the Navigli area is unkind to restaurants because they come and go so frequently. Like it this year, gone next year. Not so with Gnoccho Fritto which has been serving it up since last century. Take the metro to Pte. Genova, use the Via Casale exit to the street, pass Aaron Brusaolo's La... read more

I love food in there! I love 'gnocco fritto', which is a typical Italian food (a special fried bread) - hams and cheeses with gnocco fritto are just amazing!! and then main courses are delicious as well, and also desserts.....food is so good in this place! Just go! You can find some pics on my Instagram account: rompiontheroad

This palace is in the navigli area, one of the most beautiful of Milan. Regardless of this, the prices are more then fair and you will eat a lot! Start with the cutting boards full of ham and cheese of several types, served with "gnocco fritto" (a fried squared bread from Emilia Romagna) and jams of different tastes. Then, if... More

Tiramisu yum yum yum... Good food, cool service, good wine, and good price. The fried gnocchi were so addictive I couldn't stop until the main dish was served :p

This place has a great table of cheeses (I recommend to try the blue cheeses) That can be combined with the gnoccho fritto, a type of appetizer that comes all the time to the table (once you pay 4 euros). really yummy, to who is Brazilian, it is close to our "pastel". The pasta of boar sauce and of duck... More

We got the name of this place of Milanese people. Leave all the tourist traps at the canal behind you and come to this amazing restaurant. We started our meal (of course) with the gnocco fritto and fresh Italien meat and cheese. After that, we have taken an amazing pasta. The dulce looks great but we where just full... We... More

A lovely environment especially with friends. We had the gnoccho fritto and it was lovely. The "bread" just kept flowing into our table. The taste is perfect just on its own but when you add the cheeses or the salumi it il takes it to a whole new level.

We were a group of 24 people and we were recommended to this restaurant by our hotel. The atmosphere of the restaurant was excellent and the staff so friendly and helpful, it's not an easy task looking after so many people and they did this very well. We had 2 vegetarians in our group and although we had already chosen... More

We wet there because a local friend suggested us to eat there. This is not a must but a VERY good place to go. It has a nice selection of cheese and food is of good quality. Service is very good, friendly staff and nice selection of wine! Big portion of Tiramisu and excellent taste

Staying in Navigli

Neighborhood Profile
Navigli
The Navigli is part of historic Milan. In the ancient days, the entire city was linked with canals, similar to Venice. Today, most of the canals are gone, but the Navigli remains a canal-based neighborhood. There are two major canals: Naviglio Pavese and Naviglio Grande. The Naviglio Grande's bridges greet visitors at dusk with an amazing view. The Navigli district specializes in clubs, cafes, and vintage shops. Lifestyle reigns supreme here. You can start the walk from the Colonne di San Lorenzo, an antique colonnade in front of the Basilica di San Lorenzo. During the daytime, this place acts as a meeting point for artists and students reading books or chatting with friends; the nights turn it into a stepping-stone for club hoppers. Science lovers will also relish the opportunity to visit the Science and Technology National Museum Leonardo Da Vinci, showcasing inventions of the Italian genius.
