fishmonger grown into fish restaturant

Modern style restaurant in the heart of Brera, grown from the fishmonger still operating on the ground floor. I found the quality of the fish-based dishes excellent. The staff was attentive and cordial. We had a nice table near a window, overlooking the street. It was a VERY hot day, air... read more

Went there with GF, as it was supposed to be a Milan landmark (she is from Milan but had never been ; I have been eating in Milan for over 5 years), that opened a restaurant on the floor. We arrived on a Friday evening: the restaurant was 80% empty, and only filled with tourists. We thought it was bad... More

The place, a fishmonger's by day offer a quick stop for traveller who want to enjoy an interesting setting and good fish. BUT: only go at lunch and only try the ground floor bistrot version. Otherwise it ends up being too expensive (and it is not cheap to start with!)

We stopped in pulled by the fresh seafood on ice. We had the salmon and octopus. Definitely have had a lot fresher of both. Salmon was second cut (left over) and octopus was last serve (whatever they didn't sell was going to the bin). Nice tough you get a free cheap glass of espumante.

We found Da Claudio from other tripadvisor reviews and really enjoyed our dinner there--great food, service, and wine. The only thing we didn't love was the ambiance. For food, the warm salad with seafood and the mixed fish dish were particularly good.

The most clever Italian restaurants (in all budget categories) are updating themselves quicky to include a variety of ingredients that range from fresh raw tunna to finely marinated vegetables. One of the Italian cities that is heading this culinary revolution is Milan. One of the many places in Milan in which you can enjoy this kind of delicacies is a... More

We found this place our last morning walking around Milan. It was too early to have lunch but we felt tempted for the variety and the freshness. We ate just at the coffee on ground floor. We had mixed raw fish, prawns, mussels, clams and calamari with mixed seasonal vegetable and also scallops and of course sparkling wine. It was... More

Not a very transcendantal experience for those looking for an Italian oriented experience and who don't like raw fish. The restaurant is divided in a middle-range priced self-service at the ground floor and a more conventional seated area at the first floor. The self-service consists mostly of raw fish plates and salads, the grilled choices aren't explained in English and... More

About the restaurant on the 2nd floor there is no information, but the cafe on the ground floor great. Though stuff do not speak English, portions small and open only a few hours during the day, but seafood here is excellent. All food served with a glass of Prosecco.

Staying in Brera

Neighborhood Profile
Brera
Brera captures the real essence of the city. It is an excellent mix between history and modernity, where tradition meets innovation. Here design and beauty reign. On Via Brera there are the famous Pinacoteca (galleries), the National Gallery of Modern and Antique Art, and the Academy of Fine Arts. Interior design boutiques and intellectual cafes are typical of the district. Walking along Via Madonnina is a must to admire the architecture of buildings and the design stores. On Sundays, going to the local market is an unmissable opportunity for fashion, style and art. Tucked away, there is the Orto Botanico di Brera botanical garden that seems like a painting framed in an ancient fairy structure. Last but not least, it’s worth a visit to Giardini Pubblici Indro Montanelli with its Planetarium, the Civico Museo di Storia Naturale (Natural History Museum).
