In a quiet square near to the Basilica we came across this gem. We felt that in all respects that the standard was excellent, to such an extent that we dined there on three occasions. The food was delicious, featuring local specialities and ingredients in season; the atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed and the service was both very friendly and... More

After reading the reviews on TripAdvisor I had been expecting better from our dinner at Tiratappi. The quality of the food was average, some dishes were nice even if not exceptional (the caponata and the aubergine timballo), others were disappointing (the cuttlefish burger, too salty and with a rather indistinct taste, and way too expensive all things considered). The waiters... More

A small restaurant hidden away from the hustle and bustle of the Main Street. The food was superb with a brilliant menu to choose from - both interesting and enticing. Overall however, the friendliness of the staff and particularly the restaurant owner made this meal out incredibly special. Leaving with a complimentary bottle of 'melon cream' and a belly full... Delicious food, very we'll thought out, original menu. Extremely friendly family owned small restaurant with outdoor seating in a perfect position - visited by Dickens in 1844,

Good food and friendly staff in an attractive little restaurant slightly off the beaten track, that also has outside seating.

This was definately the best food we had in Mantua. The dinner was complete to every detail: nicely decorated little restaurant, friendly attentive staff, the meat was cooked to perfection, great merlot. And the dessert was to die for!!

We stayed in the Agora appartment just down from this restaurant and was recommended to eat here by Cristina the owner. Well we weren't disappointed the food was great I had the speck goose and the pork shank and both were delicious. The pork shank in particular was cooked to perfection. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. My partner... More

I had my birthday dinner there last night and really enjoyed myself. The staff are friendly and for a three course meal the bill came to under €50 which is very reasonable. Try the pumpkin ravioli and also the white chocolate mousse with raspberries. Delicious!

I ate the most wonderful "tortelli di zucca" (pumpkin ravioli) on a warm spring day, sitting outside in the piazza. It was the best meal I had in Mantua, and with hindsight, I wish I had eaten there in the evening as well. The waitress was really good, discussing the choices, and recommending me to try the local red wine... More

We've been at Tiratappi last sunday, the 9th of March. Fortunately we booked few days in advance: the sunny day brought many clients, attracted by the terrace but even inside it was fully-booked. As usual the service has been friendly but elegant. The food really excellent. My wife and my parents decided for fish and have been really satisfied. My... More
