A different Saint Sylvester Night...or not ??

Actually the host of the hotel we stayed in Mantova booked for the 31st December evening at this restaurant, one of the most known and popular in town (several press articles and VIP hosts). It was indeed a different Saint Sylvester night...because there was absolutely no difference with any other... read more

Small place, primarily serving locals. Nice service, excellent food. Not fancy but most enjoyable. Highly recommended.

I ate in this restaurant last weekend with my girlfriend;the owner,a mustachioed man has read the menu;we chose pumpkin tortelli and tagliatelle alla Baffo, water and lambrusco wine. For sweet,"sbrisolona" typical cake of Mantova. Good and cheap restaurant!I recommend it,Compliments.

The food is cooked to perfection. It serves traditional regional dishes, but never feels 'old fashioned'. It's a short walk from the centre of the old town, just over the river. We walked there on a chilly winter night, and it's a wonderful experience to walk into the warmly lit interior, and be greeted by the friendly staff. We had... More

We went for lunch on a Saturday and found this place clearly popular with the locals. The pastas were ample and tasty, the main dishes excellent, and the service very friendly.

Small Osteria but used by locals and tourists alike. Warm welcome from the husband and wife owners. The menu is true Lombardian fare, with several pasta dishes only offered in this part of Italy, Many courses presented in the pan that they are cooked in, and everything we tried on our two visits here was excellent. Highly recommended and dont... More

We were suggested this place by the owner of the hotel where we were staying. My wife and I like to try out the local cuisine when traveling and we were not disappointed. The osteria is a small one-room restaurant offering some 30 places. It was fully booked that evening and appears to be mainly visited by locals, always a... More

great experience if you want to taste the typical cuisine of the region. A warm welcome, wide choice of main courses and desserts. I tried the risotto alla mantovana and was just perfect. the only very small concern is about the quantities in the dishes that is abundant while i do prefer less to taste more. Not sure is an... We arrived on a cold, foggy December Sunday and had a fantastic lunch. The small osteria was full of Italian families and couples of all ages. The atmosphere was warm and friendly. The meal was truly local, traditional Mantua cuisine. Is there anything better than the local cotechino sausage and polenta, with a nice wine, on a dreary Sunday afternoon.
