Perhaps we were slightly unlucky with this one, but comes across as somewhat boring - compared to the other really good meals we have had in Stresa. We expect more "life" at an Italian restaurant, more vibrant.. Main cources really good, but starters and dolci we would expect more. Duck and Guinea fowl very tasty and tender.

This was a good find in Stresa. Just a little bit away from the main centre is this delightful little restaurant which obviously has a good chef because the food is very well prepared. Some locals eating there which is always a good sign. Menu was limited. No problem as the food was excellent but was the reason we did... More

Food great; nice ambience in a quiet place. Could do with some music in the background and you may need to make a reservation. But it is fabulous!

After deciding we wanted to walk to a restaurant we decided to try Trattoria Due Piccioni based on TA reviews. We were delighted. We started with samples of Lake Fish and a salad. Both were delicious. I had duck confit with marbleized onions for my main dish and my husband had lamb. Both were excellent. Sauces enhanced but didn't overwhelm.... More

Found this restaurant by chance and just loved it. We were happy to see the menu was small compared to the pages of menus in other restaurants in Stresa, waitresses were very friendly and attentive even with a busy restaurant. We had the Chef's homemade pate and seafood to start and lamb chops and ravioli for mains. Desserts were fabulous!... More

This is just such a nice place to eat, very friendly service very friendly people. The Homemade Pate I had was delicious if a little too large and the Lamb Chops were beautifully cooked to perfection, still pink inside, the sweet and bitter vegetable accompaniment was delicious and different. My wife had the Goats Cheese starter (Tomino Capra) and was... More

There are many terrible tourist traps in Stresa so this was a wonderful recommendation for us. Not an extensive menu but good quality ingredients cooked and presented well. We ate here twice in our week in Stresa and wished we had found it earlier, not the last 2 nights Would recommend - value for money, pleasant staff and simple home... More

This was without doubt our favourite restaurant in Stresa (of those that we tried). From start to finish, service and food were superb. Would definitely go back and would definitely recommend. if I had one regret it's that we didn't go here on our first night as i know we would have visited more than once.

This restaurant deserves all the plaudits it receives.if you find more welcoming ,smiling and helpful service anywhere then please let me know. Complaints about the size of the menu are misguided. This is a fine restaurant not a cafe that serves everything to everyone! I had homemade pate with rustic toast whilst my wife chose the goats cheese which came with... More

This is a great little restaurant that offers excellent food, service and good value for money. Missed out first night because it was full and you need to book to secure one of the 12/13 tables, which we did. We shared the homemade pate to start which was great and enough for two. Suckling pig and mixed fish for mains... More
