This tucked away friendly restaurant is worth a visit. My husband declared his pasta starter the best ever and was equally thrilled with his roast suckling pig. As I am gluten intolerant I opted for the risotto with speck ham and cheese, for main poached fish from the lake with herb stuffing and tomato sauce. A jug of house wine... More

We had a nice dinner in this restaurant. As an appetizer my husband ordered home made pate, which was served in a cup, not very interesting. As a main course we both ordered mixed lake fish plate which was delicious. The best fish meal we have had during 7 days at lakes Como and Maggiore. The restaurant was beautiful and... More

The trattoria is located, almost hidden, in a quiet area away from the main piazza of Stresa. It does not appear, during the week days at least, to get too busy. It has a small menu compared to some but the quality of the food is hard to beat. The staff are very pleasant and attentive and speak English. They... More

Wife had pizza vegetarian. I had minestrone soup and pasta with shrimp. Pasta was very good. Pizza was very good. Soup was terrific. All good. No complaints.

maybe, Phil, you had a dinner at the Osteria degli amici, the Pizzeria in the square next to our trattoria: We don't serve pizza, minestrone and seafood!!! However we'll happy to delate your compliments to our neighbours, friends and colleagues. More

Could have eaten most on this menu! Good service and very friendly chatty staff. Restaurant is a bit hidden away so need to look for it.

We had a late dinner that was simple but perfect. Lamb cooked perfectly for two people who each ordered different degrees of doneness. Ravioli with ricotta Lemon and walnuts. A mixed salad of perfectly fresh ingredients. A wonderful meal with attentive service and a charming atmosphere. Many locals eating when we came in. Go!

This restaurant was closed for maintenance until our last day in Stresa as we passed it every day on our way into the town. Service was quick and friendly although there was a large party eating. They had some unusual dishes including donkey which I tried. My selection of lake fish was excellent but enough for two so I could... More

Went looking for an out of the way place with great food. Found it. Service was good although busy turning away those without a reservation. We apparently were the last of the 7 pm seating without a res. The pasta was excellent and lamb chops were outstanding, nicely seasoned and perfectly cooked. The house wine is very good and reasonably... More

Besides some of the good critics on tripadvisor we were not happy with our dinner for the following reasons: it started with the bread which was dry like cut hours before, my risotto was ready after a little more then 10min indicating that it was not fresh made and in addition to that it was quite tasteless, the same with... Stresa is full of places that smell of tourist trap so we had a long reconnaisance walk before we chose this place - also based on trip advisor reviews. This typical trattoria is nicely decorated without kitsch and shows the owner's dedication and sense of style. If you hope that the same approach is also used in the preparation of... More
