Fancying steak on Tuesday night (3 nights into trip), I read some great reviews on TripAdvisor, that this was 1 of 2 in Stresa and was only 180m from our hotel. And it didn't disappoint on the food. Medium rare Steaks (ordered by the 100gram) and wild boar in pink peppercorn sauce are still the... read more

This is a very popular restaurant ! People outside lining up for tables. Inside it is small and quaint and has plenty of atmosphere. Maybe I made a bad choice but how do you spoil chicken and chips ? With preformed chicken , frozen chips and very little taste !! Very disappointed as it looked so promising.

Came for dinner. The pasta was very good (Caronara). I tried to order local beef for the entree, but was guided toward a more expensive buffalo filet. However, the cut of meet was not a filet at all; eventhough the menu shows the cow with the different cuts of meet. It was OK; nothing special at all. I think I... More

For the best food we had in Stresa, La Botte Has good food, well cooked , good value, the lot! As a general rule in Italy, the “house wine” Is as good as anything else that is “fine”. It’s a popular place, arrive by seven thirty You’ll be accommodated and seated expertly. The quantity of portions here is generous And... More

We had 4 very different meals and all of us were more than happy with what we had. The food was reasonably priced and house wine was good. The restaurant doesn't seat that many so gets full very quickly, I would recommend that you book. Would happily eat here again.

Matilda drew us in to this charming restaurant . even though very busy she makes you feel very welcome . It is small and the downside is the tables are very close together but food excellent , atmosphere great and wouldn't hesitate to return.

Food good, not great. Plenty of food choices. We settled on grilled lamb chops and gnocchi. Lamb chops were a bit fatty. Pleasant service from entire staff. Fair prices.

We had lunch here, it is very small and became crowded, but plenty of atmosphere. Three of us had lasagne ,wine and salad. It was delicious, full of flavour and a generous helping. The service was efficient and it seemed to cater for locals as well as tourists. Very good value for money.

We were met/consumed by the Maitre de Mathilde who organised us and others for a brilliant evening. The food was delicious, the Prosecco was offered to anyone who had to wait. The chefs and sous chefs were all on display as though they were in a theatre of food. Go there and enjoy it all.
