Hidden away in the back streets of Stresa is this fab little restaurant. The menu was very traditional Italian. Service up front very friendly , efficient . I had Italian sausages on beans I want more! My wife Sue had Cappacio of beef with a cheese truffle fondue and Wow she has not stopped talking about it. Going back again... More

We came here twice for lunch - just off the main front with friendly staff (also spoke English), good menu, very clean kitchen (visible) and very good meals. Would recommend - good prices too. Crab risotto and fried fish fillets were great.

I have had very little cause to write bad reviews for restaurants as I try to pick good ones. La Botte had good reviews and so we tried it and unfortunately, it was a terrible experience. We had an 8pm reservation, so in essence the 'the second sitting" of the evening. The service started out very well but an hour... More

La Botte had everything we wanted: delicious food with regional specialties at reasonable prices and warm, friendly service in an eclectically decorated, cozy venue. We enjoyed some of the best meals of our trip there. There were always people waiting to take up a table as soon as one was vacated, but customers were never made to feel they should... More

Went twice, Fantastic small authentically rustic restaurant. It's decorated in a collective way very rustic and cosy. Great meat dishes I had lamb chops in herb dressing, my husband had boar in pink peppercorn and whiskey sauce both delicious. 2nd visit had seafood ravioli In pesto again yummy! Just go you won't be disappointed, we had to wait once and... More

The chef/patron is klarger than life not only supervising the welcome of guests but also running the kitchen and cooking much of the food. We dined there on 3 occassions during our stay and were not disappointed with any of the food. In fact many of the portions are large and although there is a temptation to add garnishes to... More

We decided to eat here for our last meal in Stresa as were intrigued by the menu which was a bit different from most of the other restaurants. It was full when we arrived on a wet Friday night. We were asked to come back in 20 mins and popped round the corner for a glass of wine. We didn't... More

We shared an entrée of cured meats and cheeses made in the local area. The meats were wild boar, goat, duck, venison and lamb. Everything was beautifully made and presented. Our mains, simple Italian fair, were delicious, especially the wild boar with pink peppercorn sauce. The restaurant was quiet on the day and the service was excellent. We finished our... More
