We had an amazing dinner at il Voletto while in Stresa. It is out of the way from the hustle and bustle of Stresa (if there is such a thing) and we saw many people turned away because of lack of reservations. Reservations are a must (I had a friend who speaks Italian call because there is no website or... More

The problem for a small restaurant being near the top of trip adviser ratings is that the place is full of english speaking tourists! This is of course not their fault but most other restaurants in Stresa that we visited had a fair share of Italians, either local or on holiday, which gave the places much more of a foreign... More

The 3rd time we called to make a reservation - and had a marvellous food experience.. Staff very attentive but not rushung you out if your chairs. Try the strawberry and rootbeet risotto, the lamb shoulder and the beef! Wine selection very good - also got details of winery Travaglini to visit to learn more of their marvellous Gattinara wines.... More

The location is on a one-way street that looks like a narrow driveway. As we walked down this "driveway" we passed a restaurant that looked very inviting. It was Il Vicoletto. We had made a reservation which I highly recommend since parties were turned away because the small (15 tables?) restaurant was full. We were warmly welcomed. The menu is... More

This restaurant is listed in the Michelin guide book. We found Il Vicoletto through the concierge at the hotel along with TripAdvisor. The restaurant is located on along a narrow, quaint street in the downtown older section of Stresa. We did make reservations, which is essential if you want to eat here the same day. We noticed at least eight... More

Follow the signs to find this place, but if you haven't booked you will probably be turned away. Lovely food and great service. Make no mistake this is a proper restaurant. If you want pizza go somewhere else. We preferred the inside, as when smokers are present the outside is a little enclosed.

Like most decent restaurants it is advisable to book and fortunately when we did so, we didn't ask to sit outside. Fortunate because on the evening we visited there was a torrential downpour and outside was not the place to be however, if you can be sure that it isn't going to rain then outdoors is a must. The service... More

Followed trip advisor recommendations and was not disappointed! Great intimate atmosphere and service, good menu options. Food was excellent we had salmon, rooster roll for starters, lamb with braised onions and scallops in black bean sauce for our mains then finished off with passion fruit and gelato, panda cote and warm chocolate cake. Add water, soft drinks and great bottle... More

Went to this restaurant on Tripadvisor recommendation and was not disappointed. We had the lemon and pepper flavoured linguine vongole and the tagliatelle marinara, both were the best pastas we have ever eaten!!! The service was faultless and even our half-bottle of Valpolicella was decanted and presented beautifully. A must visit for anyone going to Lago Maggiore.

One of the best places we ever eat. Everything is delicious and the prices they charge are like eating at a pizzeria, while it is a Michelin place. Service also excellent, with the owner (woman) in service and the owner (man) in the kitchen.
