Fabulous view and great local cooking

Worth the drive! Great local place with home cooking and different menu choices to Bellagio town below. Local meats, cheese and sausages. Homemade cakes for dessert. Quite simply done - not pomp or flare but full of Flavour. Very relaxed and cosy inside. Good value - would highly recommend.

We were staying in Bellagio for one night and asked some locals, "If you could go to any restaurant you wanted and only had one dinner in town, where would you go?" And all 3 (different) people that we asked said, "Trattoria Baita Belvedere". And now I can see why. We took a 10 minute drive up this long winding... More

On a nice day this is THE place to have lunch. The fairly basic home style dishes are full of flavour, but half the reason to go is for the view, it is spectacular! Home made cheeses, and local wines are a must.

Bruno from our B&B in San Giovani (Locanda della Maria) suggested this as a special treat and he was spot on. The restaurant van picked us up right on time, collected another 2 couples, and then we were off to the top of the mountain via narrow roads and many switchbacks. Would have been tough to find in the daylight... More

What a surprise. On of the staff at Hotel Silvio recommended this hotel and what a lovely surprise away from the hustle and bustle of Bellagio. The view was amazing and the food and wine was very local with Venison, Wild Boar and home made cheese. We took advantage of the pick up from Bellagio so no one had to... More

Visited after making a reservation via email a few days before and arranged for the restaurant minibus to collect us from where we were staying - don't think we would have found it ourselves and was just €4pp return so worth it so we could have some wine! The food is locally sourced and all homemade. Their menu offers something... More

What a wonderful place, you can ring from Bellagio central and organise transport into the hills. (nominal 8 eu charge included on the bill for 2 people.) Food rustic, fantastic view, fantastic food and wonderful table. Exciting ride into the hills. Thoroughly recommended.

After a fairly strenuous hike up from Bellagio and a visit to the nearby farm connected to the restaurant, we had a great lunch outside overlooking Bellagio and Lake Como toward the mountains in the distance. A perfect way to replace those calories.

Beautiful rustic and simple place with a wonderful terrace on the mountain that overlooks the lake!! Bucolic atmosphere ... The staff is very kind , the food is not ' wow' but it is definitely worth the visit even just for the location ! Cheese , honey and yogurt freshly made from their own animals hanging around just outside!!
