After the stifling heat of the day on the lake we headed to La Grotta - up a dark narrow street from the quayside and in through big iron doors - to find a cool oasis with food to match. Service was discreet and efficient, the place was very quickly packed out with diners of all nations including lots of... More

We spent a glorious day on Lake Como, stopping in Bellagio for a bite to eat. We came upon this small restaurant that was located up a steep set of stairs. This was one of the best pizzas I have ever had. Thin crust with tasty toppings and a cold beer to top it off.

You can tell this place is one of the better restaurants in Bellagio because it is full of Italians and the local family who owned our hotel recommended it as well. Had a fantastic meal and would go there again

I have many allergies, but they dealt with it perfectly. Try the Octopus and potato - AMAZING and so FRESH!

Off the "Tourist Boulevard" by virtue of being up a couple of dozen steps or so. And as a result prices are very reasonable. Warm welcome to a family run restaurant where company, conversation and simple tasty food and good wine matters most. Fairly bare inside but don't let this dissuade you from eating there. Menu covers the usual and... More

We ate at La Grotta upon our arrival in Belagio. The pizzas are large and tasted great. None of us could finish them. Try the La Grotta pizza with fresh mushroom and prosciutto. Very reasonable prices. About 25 or so steps from the lake.

Would rate this 4.5 if available just due to lack of ambiance. However, the food was very good and the risotto with sausage was unbelievable. Other person in our party had the pasta carbonara which was also excellent. Very generous portions, in fact, too much. Wouldn't hesitate to go back, excellent!

Tucked away from the crowds and noise on the waterfront this delightful family run Pizzeria, restaurant offers great food, great service in a well presented bright airy restaurant . The menu is in multiple languages, the table linen, is linen, nothing paper or plastic , the bread basket has a variety of breadsticks and fresh bread and the freshly made... More

Difficult as it is to get really bad food in Italy, they managed it. We had a poor risotto with no flavour at all (this is north Italy so you would expect at least a reasonable risotto). Then we had two plates of vegetables one grilled one boiled. The boiled vegetables were tasteless frozen ones. And the grilled veg was... More
