The best meal we had in Italy

Every single dish we ordered was excellent, clearly made fresh with the freshest of ingredients. The minestrone was so flavorful that our non soup-eating 9 year old sopped up every last drop. The misto salad tastes like it came straight from the garden. The pastas and cacciatore were delicate and... read more

We ate here on our first night in Bellagio. Couldn't get in on our last night unfortunately. We sat on the steps on cushions outside to wait a little while for a table -it was about 8.30. If you want to guarantee a table get there when they open at 7.00. They close at 9.30. Salad was good, ragu simple... More

Very nice place to eat. Good location - in the center of old town, in a small street, on the hill...so the wie is nice. The only minus is that there is small menu to choose from. The was no spaghetti carbonara and no risotto at all - but this is most popular dishes in Italy....and I want some of... More

We ate here on our first night in Bellagio and really enjoyed it. They do not take reservations and we waited across the stairs at the wine bar they own. We had a glass of wine and a small cheese platter while waiting about 45 minutes. Our meal was good, not great. They also own Bilacus which was our favorite... More

The food and restaurant were not what we expected, and the food was average. Service was ok, but the food fell below our expectations.

We loved eating here! I had the fixed price meat menu and my husband had the chicken cacciatore. They do not take reservations, so show up right at 7 to guarantee getting a table. It is owned by the same people as Bilacus.

As you get off the ferry, bypass all the big hotels and head up the steps leading to the centre of town and you will find the Trattoria San Giacoma. It is tucked away in a corner opposite other eateries but it stands out as the restaurant where people are prepared to wait for a table. The wait is not long... More

We had spotted this restaurant when dining at the Bilacus (it is more or less opposite) and noted that it seemed pretty busy so decided to try it. Very glad we did. The food was first class as was the service. 2 of my companions had the grilled lake fish which was excellent as was the chicken cacciatora. I chose... More
