We stumbled on Salice Blu (Blue Spruce) right as it was closing at 2 pm, the waiter glanced at the chef who motioned us in to eat. Seeing that Chef Luigi Gandola was more than a little accomplished, we let him choose our menu. We had a fabulous meal of pasta, trout and an artisanal dessert, with Luigi's choice of... More

Salice Blu was recommended by a friend otherwise, we would have never known about it. The chef, Luigi, was delightful and energetic and is actively looking to make a name for himself among celebrity chefs in Italy, and most likely the world. He's still young and while his ideas are good, be prepared to try to grasp where he is... More

Its not everyday you get the owner/chef to pick you up at your hotel and bring you to his restaurant....then cook a masterpiece for you... from the service to the scrumptious food this was a top 10 dining experience. We were a party of 7 and everything was spot on, these guys didn't miss a beat. The food presentation was... More

We visited this restaurant during a nice day of September. The place looks beautiful, with plants, candels and nice furnishings. All the dishes we had were good, but nothing to remember in such a particular way, considering the price. Service is a little "heavy". At the moment of paying, we were not asked if we were sarisfied or not. Simply... More

My husband and I arrived late at our hotel and were recommended this restaurant by them. We were staying out of the centre of Bellagio and didn't have a car so the chef at the restaurant offered to pick us up and take us back to the hotel afterwards. It was so kind of them, we really appreciated it. We... More

Expectations may have been too high but the food was ok. Chef came and picked us up from the ferry - which was really great. There are lots of cups and certificates on walls highlighting chef's awards so we were looking for something really special. The standout dish was the grilled Lake Fish - which was really amazing - so... More

Chef Luigi Gandola is a world class chef and provides interesting and delicious dinners. We took a cooking class there two summers ago and returned again this summer. We ate there several times each of the two Junes we were in Bellagio. Each time was a delight and the food was surprisingly good.

The good things - Luigi came to our hotel to collect us which was great. His personality shines and you can tell he cares very much about his restaurant and the food he serves. The restaurant, and particularly the terrace, are beautiful and quite romantic. The food -I had the 4 lake fish - ok but not outstanding. The truffle... More

Has a wonderful lunch for two for under €100. Magnificent seafood and, for my coeliac partner, the first oppprtunity in her life to eat ravioli (made from polenta and potatoes and see stuffed with lake fish). The terrace tables are a delightful setting. Being driven to the restaurant and back to the ferry by Luigi was an added bonus.

Everything about this place is a farce. I give it 5 stars for being awful on every level.  It's the grand prize winner of worst restaurant experience in the last 5 years. It's curious that this establishment has so many excellent reviews ( many in Italian)? When you read through the less than good reviews, they reflect everything we experienced. ... More
