Food excellent - but overpriced

Decided to have one up market meal during our stay in Bellagio. A change to the more touristy restaurants in the town. A truly excellent dinner of Venison - beautifully presented and certainly Michelin star quality. However the price was too much - we went into dinner with our eyes open and knew... read more

The Mistral is a Michelin starred restaurant located within the Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni. This 5 star hotel is situated directly in the centre of Bellagio and is therefore easily accessible for anyone staying in the village as well as by boat from Como, Verena, Cadennabia or Mennagio. The restaurant can be reached via the entrance lobby or through the... More

A Michelin starred restaurant, providing cutting edge innovative cooking (molecular cuisine) by the shores of a lake, with views of the alps, in one of the most beautiful and charming villages in Italy. WOW. So worth the trip ! !

This restauarant although part of a very good hotel has rested on its laurels for far too lang and I am always surprised how they continue to retain their Michelin star. The food is mediocre and amateurish served by pretencious waters

Must try egg at 60 degrees with parmesan cream and basil oil: heaven in a glass. Yes, the food is pricy, but so worth it! The meat we ate here melts in your mouth, and I don't even eat meat a lot as I do not like it!

On our trip to Bellagio we ate at the Mistal restaurant on 2 occasions. The food was gorgeous, and they had quite a diverse menu to choose from. The waiting staff were fantastic, nothing was too much trouble. They even served us a couple of dishes that weren't on their menu. Definitely the best restaurant in Bellagio! The location in the... More

we booked a table to try an italian michelin star, and late discovered the molecular twist. but we went all in - molecular menu and wines selected by sommelier. And it was fantastic. great food, sicilian prawns in coconut cream, beef tatar italien style, veal cooked in hours, local cheeses... just carry on! really fantastic experience. and the wines selected... This is a dining experience, with molecular gastronomy! We chose the degustation, which is the speciality of the restaurant. The food was an interesting experience, and the food waiters were most attentive. Given our choice of menu, we asked the sommelier to select some local wines to match the respective dishes. Most of these were dreadful, and undrinkable! In fact,... More

We didn't have the "molecular" tasting menu (whatever that is) but just had choices from the al la carte. My meal was extremely disappointing. I had gnochetti with a game ragout, but the (very dry) sauce had very little juice or life, and had very little flavour. My main was scallops, which were only luke warm, and were served with... First, the decor of this restaurant was lovely, not too stiff, with a beautiful view of Lake Como. Second, the staff was attentive, not at all snooty, friendly and helpful. When we asked for a wine recommendation that was something different and local, he was was like a boy sharing a favorite toy - and the wine that he shared... More
