Description: Monna Lisa grew out of a combination of numerous work and life experiences,...
Monna Lisa grew out of a combination of numerous work and life experiences, in a family which has always worked in the restaurant business. The birth of a daughter... a passion for ancient and traditional art... Sicilian culture which integrates with the Italian character and internationalism of people who like to call themselves 'world citizens'...as reflected in the furnishings, in the wine and in their gastronomic choices. You are received into welcoming atmosphere in a quiet and evocative corner of the centre of Bergamo, where taste , art, culture and traditions combine to offer customers a unique and elegant, yet simple, experience. Everything works in a way to make the customer feel part of the family at Monna Lisa, with care taken not only to please the palate, but also the eyes and ears. The Staff You will find a spirit of sharing and a sense of belonging. The staff of the Monna Lisa are a family: they are an efficient, creative, attentive organisation, which draws on the wealth of experience of its members, who have an extensive experience in the restaurant business. Peoples, each one of integral importance, complete the customer experience from the moment you walk in the restaurant. The dishes on offer are the result of personal experimentation, developed in detail until they deserve a place on the menu. The creativity, the refinement and the management style adopted by staff make Monna Lisa unique of its kind, set apart from the rest. Art through simplicity What makes a dish a 'work of art'? What makes cookery a language? The simplicity of the ingredients, the creativity and passion of the cook : simplicity, high quality and beautiful presentation are three essential principles that guide the choice of the dishes and their creation. At Monna Lisa, the aesthetics and the culinary choices capture the essence of traditional Italian and international cuisine, in all its beauty, harmony and poetry. Seafood specialities, fresh pasta, renowned desserts, use of carefully selected, top quality products, attention to detail, customer care and the 'work of art' created in each dish. That's how something beautiful to look at is also delicious to taste.

We had a wonderfull evening and dinner: nice restaurant, the owners are Italo-British an extremely friendly. My primi was a little too salty, that was the only hick-up. The main dishes were just great!

We have been here for a quick family lunch. On today's menu there was rice with clams, seabass with a crispy crust. For dessert we have taken Latte di mandorla In Piedi and Caprese. Everything was fresh and served very artistry. The ambient mixes up different styles, you can say the owners have travelled quite a lot. I've just read the... More

We had a lovely dinner with friends who are living in Bergamo. They made us discover this super restaurant and we cannot wait to go back. When you arrive you will discover a charming place with a nice atmosphere. You also have a nice garden/patio (we had our desert outside). The warm welcome of the owners make you feel immediately... Family business, very kind and positive people with good knowledge on food and beverage. The atmosphere is really nice and warm. You can feel the good vibes. The food is elaborated and very delicious. We recently visited Bergamo on a short break from London with our two children aged 10 and 7. We stumbled upon Monna Lisa, just below the old town on our second day and stopped in for lunch. The restaurant is beautiful and from the moment we walked through the door the owners were very welcoming and fantastic with the children.... More

From the moment you walk into the Monna Lisa you realise you are walking into a very classy restaurant. It has the joy of being a family owned restaurant whilst serving food that looks great and tastes even better. The people I met all spoke excellent English and were attentive but never intrusive. I had the Risotto capesante, funghi porcini... More

Do not miss this beautiful family run restaurant if you're visiting Bergamo. The antipasti and main dishes are all the traditional favourites you would expect in this region together with some Sicilian specialities. The menu is tightly focused with approximately five selections of starters /fish /meat/ desert dishes on any given evening and the result is excellent freshly prepared and... More

Modern design, tasty food, have three daily fresh special dishes except the items on the menu. Staff speaks good English, helpful but still has room for improvement - we ordered a bottle of wine, the waiter passed by many times but never filled our glasses....
