Best Meal in Two Weeks of Travel in Italy

Traveled in Rome, Tuscan countryside, Florence and Santa Margherita. Dined at casual trattoria's and at more expensive ristorante's. Ordered the tasting menu at Acqua Pazza and had the best meal of the trip. Food was outstanding, service was wonderful. Interior is clean, contemporary, intimate... read more

I am coeliac my husband is not. Mine was dreadful but that is to be expected I suppose. For my husband; 3 scallops uncleaned, corals still attached and a main course of squid ink bread coated sea bass (the only acceptable dish served). My starter was I a courgette frittata, so over-cooked it was inedible. As I left it (as... More

We had a wonderful meal was unique and delicious. The only problem was that the English on the menu was incorrect for one of the dishes or the waiter attempted to give us a dish that wasn't what we ordered. It was finally straightened out and a replacement dishes provided. It was outstanding. We ordered a bottle of Chianti which... More

We had only three hundred and 70 calories to play with so finding food we could really savour amongst a sea of pasta and olive oil was always going to be tricky. We avoided the front....rarely do you get truly delicious food next to a major church or facing the sea on the Med. Up a side street we found... More

A great restaurant with exceptionally good food. Food is traditional but prepared with a "twist". The quality is excellent and the desserts were just amazing. It was quiet and relaxing and so much better than other retaurants we tried during our stay in Santa Margherita Ligure.

Taking a peek into this restaurant one has the idea it will be very, very good. It, unfortunately, was not. The restaurant was recently completely updated with clean contemporary furniture and art. Looks very new and chic. Our problem was with the service which was exceedingly slow and food preparation for a fish and one pasta was too complicated with... More

The food is very good here at this tiny little place on a small side street. We arrived early and were the first patrons but were soon joined by two other couples. Nice personal service. Our hotel concierge recommended this place and we were not disappointed.,

This is a tiny indoor restaurant, just a few tables. We were the only people there for most of the time we were there, and there was no ambience at all. The owner walked up and down past us looking miserable all evening, very disconcerting. Food wise: lovely homemade breads, my husband 's courgette flower tart was lovely, quite different... More

Looooooved the pasta. Delicious! Service was slow but that's Italy. Sit back and enjoy your wine while they make some of the best homemade pasta you'll ever eat. It's not cheap but it's worth it. I will definitely go back there.

Our first night in Santa Margherita so we sought a restaurant recommendation from the concierge at our hotel... Acqua Pazza was described as local and special. We arrived at 8.30pm and were the only couple there (not for long) which was slightly uncomfortable however, we were greeted and seated by the owner who was pleasant and attentive. Language was a...
