So quaint - appeared to be a married couple that speak very little english but enough to help you out with the menu. Amazing pasta. Highly recommend it.

A small family run restaurant with the best pesto pasta ever. The fish and meat dinners were also amazing. Get the the insalada mista with there amazing olive oil. The owners are so pleasant and so happy to serve you. I only wish I had more nights in Santa margherita just to eat there. This is the kind of restaurant... More

Small family owned traditional Italian restaurant . Everything that is good about taking tips from taxi drivers. Food was simply stunning . So glad I went with the recommendation . The lasagne portofino was one of the best things I have ever eaten . Not expensive at all given that the centre of Portofino is only a 2 minute drive... More

Il Faro is not a trendsetter, but it delivers tasty food at reasonable prices. The restaurant is family run and are friendly and do speak a bit of English. Dining in, we were given some complimentary ratatouille to go with our bread. The shrimp and courgette tagliatelle was a decent sized portion with a generous amount of shrimp and both... More

We just happened on this restaurant after our walk from Portofino. We were treated like family by the husband and wife team who run the restaurant. The food was fresh and delicious. Great salads, fish and incredible croustade and creme caramel for dessert. I dream of eating this meal again!

We loved this little family run restaurant. We had been travelling in Italy for 3 weeks by the time we arrived in Santa Margharita and we were over pizza, pasta, pannini and gelato, and were craving a home cooked meal. I had the vegetable soup, which was so nice we came back the next night for more. The staff are... More

We have eaten here many times - quality of food is very good and is delicious. The fish is so fresh and the cooking is all home-made including beautifully light tarts and puddings. Roberto and Margherita aim to please and are very friendly and accommodating.
