Good food, great view

We went here twice in three days for lunch - tasty food (pasta and salads for us), and nice people (run by the daughters of Guiseppe who runs the boat rental next door) but a wonderful quiet location at water level looking across the activity of the harbour. It's not cheap here, including the... read more

Location can't be beat, right on the water but not in the crowded part of the port. And the staff is super friendly, whether in Italian, English, French, or whatever language you might speak. Delicious panzanella appetizer with fish tartare, incredible spaghetti ai totanetti and trofie al pesto, and wonderful apple cake or gelato from the shop next door. Prices... More

When in Portofino, one might as well decide to have a perfect dinner (just to match the environment) and o Magazin is the right place to go. The food is italian cuisine at its best: surprising (try the beef tartare with only anchovies as the seasoning, it's fabulous), heavenly (spaghetti con totanetti) and the staff manages to be friendly yet... I love O Magazin because of its home away from home atmosphere, hard to find in a tourist destination such as Portofino. Great food based on traditional recipes and prime ingredients (mainly seafood/fish-based), friendly service, elegant but still no-fuss and cozy atmosphere. What I like most about this restaurant is that the two sisters who own and run the place... More

Food is good. Especially the seafood pasta, but the service is horrible. But I guess the seafood pasta made up for it! If you're not a seafood pasta fan, then don't bother

Stopped here for a mid morning beer with a view to eating lunch later. A waiter took our order and brought an overpriced German beer. Whilst we were drinking it an older woman came and said we had to order some food as it was a restaurant. (Albeit an out of season empty one) Having experienced the service needless to... More

We had lunch at this restaurant on Friday 12th September. We both ordered pansotti in salsa dolce which is a typical dish from Liguria. The pansotti are more like ravioli but what my husband and I got was a plate of tortellini. Probably the staff didn't realise that we know what the difference is between tortellini and panosotti - very... More

Was recommended this restaurant by our hotel. Unfortunately it was a disappointment. Although the food was good, the service was not. Nothing overt but not very attentive or friendly. The table next to is received much better service. They were also tourists but had an Italian guide with them. Not sure if that made the difference. The worst part was... More

Had a lovely meal here with friends on our weekend visit to Portofino. Service was excellent and attentive. Would certainly revisit when we return.

The Restaurant is located directly at the water. We had a delicious fish dish, a bottle of lovely local white wine and Tiramisu. The meal was excellent. Unfortunatelly was the staff quite snobbish and arrogant which makes me a bit sad, as the Chef does a fantastic Job in the kitchen...
