A special place for lunch in a very special place

Having got to Portofino at last, we needed somewhere special for lunch. Go no further than this place, the pasta with the special sauce was wow.

We sat down to have lunch. The food was ok, and the location is good if you like to watch passbyers and be right in the middle of everything. Not romantic nor private.

I only order one thing when I'm at Puny...The pasta with the red AND green sauce...it's a great dish and no one else does it quite the same. Old friends introduced us to Puny years ago and we still go back. This is a popular restaurant and I recommend reservations. Service can be a little spotty but the owner is... More

Clearly Mr Puni is a very Special local icon in Portofino , at 86 he welcomes everyone personally and throughout dinner his warmth is felt The restaurant was fully booked while others in the piazza were close to empty and even a local wine bar owner who we recognised , sat next to us Dine where the locals dine is... My wife and I had dinner at Puny in April 2015. We had a wonderful meal here. For a high-end area like Portofino harbor, this was a refreshing balance of "nice" and "home." The food was amazing, the service was great, and I highly suggest it. PS - its best if you get a reservation. And save room for dessert!

Good food, good wine, good friends, good view and good service. What else do you need more? I recommend you make the reservation because it's not the large restaurant. The owner told us that the Thai Royal Families came here. We enjoyed everything here. And the owner was kind enough to let us stay about 20-30 mins after it's closed. We... More

I've been sporadically visiting Portofino for near 25 years now and there's nothing more Portofino in the traditional sense of the village, than Puny. In recent years I've made a point of dining at Puny at least once, in early summer before the masses arrive. faultless on very occasion and enchanting, not to put too fine a point of it.... More
