Dinner

The fish was fresh, and the mixed grilled vegetables were good. My partner took the gnocchi al pesto. Everything was okay, not amazing but average. The tiramisú was good. The service is good, especially the server who's fun. We were disappointed by the after dinner drinks though. We wanted a nice... read more

My wife and I loved this place. It is owned by 3 brothers (one chef and two waiters), who took it over from their parents. The food was outstanding, and very inexpensive. We liked it so much that we returned the following night!

We stopped in whilst we waited for our train from La Spezzia to Roma, and it was wonderful. Francesco the owner, was so friendly and helpful. He knew that we had limited time and made sure that the food was served in a timely manner and we asked him to choose the menu.... well Lobster pasta, sea bass with tomatoes... More

We stayed in La Spezia for 3 nights and had dinner here for 2 nights. The mixed grilled seafood was fresh and well prepared. The mussels as appetisers were super fresh. Family run restaurant with fantastic jovial waiter Francesco with his easy recommendations and presento.

From the moment we came in we were having fun as the main guy, I think Francesco, worked with us to take our order. I would recommend the fish soup, grilled whole fish, I think sea bream (Branzino, Dourade...). Lots of locals as well as French.

The hotel owner advices me and my friends to have dinner at La Nuova Spezia. And it was a good advice: the pasta was nice, the fish was fresh and tasty. However the restaurant is old and needs to be redecorated. The staff were nice.

thought I had him pegged - SO personable, and HAPPY! ( bosses don't know that rule about 'no fun allowed at work' ) but then there was this other guy, also crazy-happy and personable, even without English. But then the food was so fantastic, it had to be the cook. Turns out I had them all right - 3 brothers.... More
