One of the best dinners in my life!

Had a dinner last night and can't wait to go back!!! I will start by saying, I am a very experienced and ''spoiled'' traveler... By all means, this was one of the best dinners in my life! Just get in there and trust the chef. He will surprise you mixing traditional recipes revisited as well as innovative ideas. The bread board is worth a special mention. Every little detail is emphasised and carefully looked at. Simply the best in town, excellent quality and excellent value. Book in advance, the place is small and this is great, the... More

We've just returned from a weekend in Genoa to celebrate my mum's 60th birthday and booked Voltalacarta after seeing the rave reviews on Tripadvisor. We were not disappointed. Prior to the day, the staff were great at communicating with me over email to confirm, re-confirm and finalise our booking and on the evening they went out of their way to... More

This is a truly wonderful little restaurant with a chef who loves and knows his food. We went in for a weekday lunch and tried the 20euro lunch menu which includes two courses, plus a beautiful selection of house baked bread delicacies and bottled water. Every dish on the menu is tempting, making selection difficult. After ordering, the chef sent... More

This is a small restaurant, specialising in sea food, with local produce, carefully selected and chosen. The chef really wants you to try it all and will prepare a single dish for the table to try. The whole team seem to care enormously about what they are producing, which makes for a special evening. We were a group of five... More

There are a few seafoods I don't care for, but when the chef comes around to explain his creations and options, and one choice is to trust him to make some of his best stuff ... Just go with it. I am glad i did, this was as good asit gets when dining out. This isn't a chef coming up... More

My wife and I had the pleasure of eating here recently. And it was pure pleasure. It's a small restaurant down a little lane just off a main square and looks like nothing much from the outside. But if you go in the welcome is warm and homely. The food, from starter through pasta was superb. In fact it was... More

My husband and I had the pleasure of dining at Voltalacarte on our first night in Genoa. We liked the sound of the previous trip advisor reviews and were fortunate to get a last minute table. On this particular evening there was a special degustation menu featuring a local fish, Ricciola (Amberjack in English). The chef was very kind to... More

My boyfriend and I had the most amazing dinner in Genoa last night. The owner, who is the chef, is also the host, and waiter. He is absolutely amazing in every way. The menu changes weekly (we think), they speak good enough English. THE FOOD IS OUTSTANDING. We ate a lot of seafood which was fresh, delicious, and so good... More

I've had this place bookmarked forever and been wanting to stop by, and finally made it for dinner. Let me tell you, "good" definitely doesn't do it justice. Instantly one of my top favorites in the entire city. Solid options for meal, side dishes, breads, drinks, etc. In short, it's everything the ultimate meal experience should be. Coupled with the...
