Eating at la Mamma's

Went as a party of five for dinner. You feel like you've gone to dine in grandma's dining room. The owner was very helpful and proud of her food. Food was delicate and well prepared. My tuna was fresh and delicious. A good stop while in Genoa.

This restaurant is family owned and operated, with mama and daughter serving and papa in the kitchen. The food is amazing, and our service was excellent. Little rooms are appointed as if you are visiting someone's home, and no matter where you sit the feeling is very intimate. It is important to note that the restaurant has only the two... More

The restaurant is not easy to find being down a very narrow alley off the main street. Our cab driver dropped us near the central train station and said there were a few good restaurants within a couple of blocks. We stumbled on II Lupe Antica by seeing a sign with an arrow pointing the direction. The restaurant was still... More

We were recommended this restaurant by out hotel and it really was fabulous! Just across the road from our hotel located down an alley, Il Lupo was a real find! Ring the bell to get in and you'll be given a warm welcome just as if you were eating at their home (which actually, you are)! As our Italian is... More

This restaurant is tucked down a side street not far from Piazza Principe. You must ring the bell to gain access. Inside looked like someone's living room - cosy and homely. Initially, we were the only customers and the lady who attended to us was welcoming, talkative and friendly. However as a few more tables became occupied the level of... More

Once you've found your way, in this restaurant is a real gem of a find. The food is great, it's not Michelin starred froth, it is however, good honest, rustic Italian food of very good quality and fantastic flavours. Only in Genoa for a couple of nights, but when you've found somewhere exceptional, stop looking, we'll be back again,, well... More

This great restaurant, not far from the Genova train station, is a great find. The clerk at our hotel, Hotel Agnello D'oro, suggested this restaurant almost next door. It belongs to the Genova cuisine/cultural preservation society, I Ristoranti del Piatto D'Ardesia. And true to their word, the food was all local and very fresh. We had the Ligurian specialty, Corzetti... More

A very nice trattoria near piazza principe ...decoration is very cute...like eating in someone 's living room. Food very good, great tiramisu, nice service. A bit expensive for an italian trattoria but all in all i would recommend this place to anyone.

On our last night in Genoa we thoroughly enjoyed dinner in this restaurant. As they already advice on a chalkboard - this is "slow food, not fast food" - it takes time to have a meal. Service is very friendly, they offer typical Genovese food. This is clearly above the average of the local restaurants - it deserves to be... More

Lovely cosy family run restaurant, served personally by the patron. Everyone was very nice to us. Good food, the pesto was the best I have ever tasted, Second course was very good too but we had too wait too long..
