What is there not to like? Wonderful atmosphere, excellent staff with a wide choice of drinks and cocktails. Small restaurant at one end with good food but so much free food offered with your drinks you may not want too much. Next door to Red Bricks (same owners) and across the road from the Melia hotel. Miss it at your... More

Mattoni Rossi is a buzzing bar under the trees in Via Corsica which is full of locals and their families. Men stood around wooden barrels reflecting on their day's work as mothers chatted whilst watching their children playing hop scotch on a chalked pavement grid. We sat on the raised section under an umbrella. We drank a bottle of Chardonnay... More

From outside it looks nice, but the pizza I had wasn't good as I expected (in particular I did not like the pasta of the pizza) and the background music was a bit disturbing. I wouldn't go there another time.

We were staying at the Hotel Melia in Genoa across the street and didn't want to eat in the hotel. We just dropped in here early for lunch. The food is very good and the atmosphere is quite nice. By 1 p.m. there were fifteen people--all Italians so far as we could tell--waiting for a table. You can stay as... More

I was half-expected to be turned away from the main restaurant on a mid-week after 22:00. However, the next-door Mattoni Rossi bar directed me to the next-door Mattoni Rossi restaurant for a full-menu service, which was a pleasant surprise. The carciofi pizze was served quickly and was rather good but not the best I've had while the glass of house... More

The pub serves great drinks and a variety of finger food with their "aperitivi" that will fill you up if you are not too hungry. That, and the fact that the place is located in a nice area in Genova, must be the reason why it is the destination of a trendy crowd, particularly from Thursdays to Saturdays. If your tummy... More

Happy Hour is great, although It's not a real Happy Hour: infact, prices are not discounted but still the drinks are fantastic and they're served with small dishes of food that fill You up. Great atmospehere, friendly staff and the Saturday/Sunday bruch is ecellent, too.

This restaurant is situated directly across the road from the Melia Hotel so you would think there would be a reasonable expectation that tourists would come in - whilst the fod was quite good the service was appalling it was very obvious it has a number of regulars who were all warmly welcomed (and served) but not so for the...
