Good food, great wine list!

Walking down the street we were drawn in by the great smell of the kitchen. We had chestnut trofie with pesto, cod involtino, and a pleasant cheese plate. The big surprise was the incredible wine list of local and other Italian wines. Great choices, modest pricing. Our service was timely and... read more

rarely got disappointed following lonely planet's recommendation, but this one completely changed my perception. went looking for seafood in Genoa as advised. the restaurant was hidden in dark allay, very vague sign and hard to find. we booked for 730pm, arrived at 715pm since it was cold and rainy outside and the town was dead. thought we could have a... Like many of the previous reviewers, I found my way to this restaurant thanks to a recommendation from the charming man at my hotel. The solo dinning experience can be a little odd but the staff were pleasant and helpful without being overly attentive and the food was of good quality. A pleasant night out.

Despite language barrier all 5 of us delighted by our choices, and the red wine by carafe was well above usual house wine standard. Also we were surrounded by Italians all enjoying their Saturday evening meal. Recommended by our hotel, would not have found it otherwise. At only 35 euros each we were very pleased indeed!

Nice local food, especially seafood. No wine list and no English though. Perfect place to practice your Italian.

I have visited genoa previous week and gaia was the far most the best italian I have tasted in the city. The menu is very satisfying and house wines are really delicious. Waitress suggests food if you can not choose and their choices also never let you down.

We ate here with high expectations - Lonely Planet says it's consistently voted the highest rated by locals. We visited on a Sunday, and this may have been a mistake. The restaurant is usually closed on Sundays, but serves a fixed menu for special openings about once a month. The primo was a mixture of battered deep fried vegetables and... More

The food here is quite good, especially the pesto gnocchi. It's a cute little place with friendly service and you will pretty much only see locals in here. Would recommend.

We arrived on a rainy evening after it was recommended to us by our Hotel. The food was not bad, tasty although not something to come back for. But their service had nothing to do with real customer service. They just placed the plates in front of us, not to check if the customer needed something like cheese for the pasta,... More

This hotel was recommended by the owner of our hotel, which was right around the corner from the restaurant. She told us that this is where the people who live in Genoa go, and I am not surprised. We are so glad we went there as it was the best meal we had during our 10-day trip in France, Switzerland... More
