Top quality food

Tip from hotel was spot on. Down a tiny alley and it's great to eat at authentic Italian restaurants. The decor could do with a tidy up but staff friendly and service better than reasonable. Definitely come back.

Lovely food just off Via Garibaldi. Traditional fare. The squid casserole was delicious as was the octopus dishes we had. All round winner at reasonable prices.

Recommended by locals we were graciously received (do book in advance) and offered a full and varied menu that included several vegetarian, fish and meat options. We ate pasta with fresh anchovies, ravioli with ragu, tuna steak in sesame with a safron sauce, stuffed lettuce leaves and a grilled veal cutlet. Everything was cooked to perfection and delicious. The house... More

Our mistake was to order 2 courses - they are quite large but so delicious. We had 2 seafood pastas which were both fantastic. All the fish dishes were good. It felt like a family restaurant - unassuming but good quality. Location is great.

I had some fantastic trofie al pesto and a very good cinghiale (boar). The food tasted genuine and the pesto was done in the real Genovese style. The restaurant was cozy, the wine enjoyable and prices were quite low. Good value for money!

I found that the quality of the fish ravioli was good but the selection of bread brought to the table was disappointing. The house white wine was OK. Maybe because I went on a Saturday evening I found that the service was slow (only 2 people to tend the tables). The bill came with only the final figure (€40) for... More

Absolutely loved this restaurant. It's a lovely family run restaurant with very tasty food and great service. Not only did I love the food but the place too. It's a bit hidden in a small street. It's very cosy, absolutely loved the atmosphere. Couldn't have enjoyed the food more, it was very fresh and tasty, the prices are also very... More

Down a little side street off the northern end of Via Cairoli - there's a sign on the main street. Superb quality food, very well presented. Staff very pleasant and unpretentious. A highlight of my visit to Genoa - well worth seeking out.

Situated pretty close to the beautiful white train station of Genoa, on a quite hidden narrow street, the restaurant resembles a wine cellar and had excellent wine bottles exhibited on the walls. You should definitely try the pumpkin gnocchi with parmesan and the cheese plate which comes with home made fig jam and honey. Oh, and don't forget about the... More
