Very good dinner, great stuffed mussels!

Three of us ate dinner inside the restaurant recently (a little too cool for al fresco dining that night). The ravioli with walnut sauce is a definite hit! Loved it! Also not to miss are their famous stuffed mussels (stuffed with sausage and other ingredients). Yummy! Good service, nicely... read more

Great seafood dishes! One of our favorite meals during our 10 day stay in Italy. Definitely try the seafood pasta appetizer for 2. I forget what it's called but it was delicious! We also had the catch of the day wish was sea bass if I remember correctly and it was delicious. Hope to be back soon!

We had one dinner and one lunch at Trattoria Sandro, and greatly enjoyed the meals. I suspect this is about as close as you get to gourmet food in Vernazza. We had their delicious marinated anchovies with both meals. At dinner we had branzino, my wife the filet, me the whole fish boned and served at the table. I addition,... More

Vernazza is very small and not many restaurants to eat. We were looking for seafood pasta (pasta al frutti di mare) and this is the place that looked nicest. And we were right! Food was superb and not expensive. The lady owner was nice and friendly. Wifi works very well

We made a reservation for 8.30PM in the AM of same day for dinner for two. When we arrived the blond lady - who I believe is part owner - told us they had changed it to 8.00PM without telling us and that she had given our table to someone else. She wagged her finger at us and basically told... More

Perhaps we got this restaurant on an off night. I will not say it was a terrible experience, I jut think that it should have been so much better... The waitress (whom from pictures I assume is the owner) was efficient but I think she is in the wrong trade as she was cold and unhelpful towards us and friendly... More

We had been traveling all day and, by Italian standards, were hungry terribly early (around 5:30 pm). While the kitchen doesn't open until 6:30, they were happy to seat us and let us sit in the sun and drink wine - with some nibbles - until opening time. The host was warm and - possibly because we were so early... More

Sandro is well-rated, but certainly did not meet the ratings. The antipasti anchovies were very vinegary. The main course anchovies 'pie' was clearly frozen, and now served luke-warm. The service was expedient, but not attentive. The lady of the house appeared chilled and remote. Sandro was our weakest experience in Vernazza.
