Arriving late and walking from place to place only to hear that the kitchens had closed or tables were full, we finally reach the top of the hill and are happy to get seats. Shortly after, we realise why there were tables free at the Castello.... The view was amazing and the food was Ok, but nothing comparable with our... More

My lovely little man said don't go, we won't eat well, its for the tourists, scenic places never have good food , etc etc ...he was right . The waiters were well meaning enough , but they were there for the tourists for a one time experience. Every time i turned around there was a cook smoking here a waiter... More

The worst place ever. Terrible food, no flavor at all, grumpy staff, and doesn't take credit card but they don't tell you before u have to pay the bill. The view is not worth it

We left this place with a cheated feeling. The seafood risotto that the waiter promised had fish, prawns, squid, mussels and clams only had mussels and clams. Absolutely no spices, no flavoring at all but the crunch of sand. The mussels and clams pasta also had zero flavor. At the end of the meal, we were told that they don't... More

Don't do it, it's a trap. The only reason this restaurant exist is tourism. Eat at the restaurant one step down instead, sucked to see all the empty plates down there when we couldnt finish our own. They had a cool robocop toilet though.

This restaurant may have one of the best views in Vernazza, but the food was terrible. I ordered pasta with tomatoes and basil. I am not exaggerating when I say it tasted like a $1.00 bag of pasta with a $3.00 jar of spaghetti sauce dumped on top and literally 1 sprig of basil for presentation. My husband is not... More

Great food and beautiful views. When we sat town (2 adults and 2 teenagers) we were told that VISA is accepted. After we enjoyed our meal and gave the VISA card we were told cash only. Basically, we were lured into the restaurant and deceived by the owner due to greed. Be careful when traveling in Italy anymore...it is law... More

We originally had lunch here around 20 years ago and returned this year. Once again we enjoyed excellent sardines and spagetti vongole. To get there, you need to climb the steps on the side of the town (the opposite side if you're walking in from Monterosso). It's situated just below the tower. Beautiful view overlooking the town. Only thing to... More

No one will ever dispute the beautiful view at Al Costello. And that's why a 3,00 euro cover didn't bother us in the slightest. However, the service really ruined an overall good experience. The food was tasty - the Tagame is really great, I can't imagine finding fresh anchovies like that back in the states - but otherwise leaned heavily... More

We had climbed to the Castello and after missing breakfast on the ship due to an issue with Disney Magic Staff and Maintenance, and traveling already through Monterosso, we were ready to eat or drop, so we grabbed a table just above the cliffs at Al Castello. We only waited a minute or so for our server and within a... More
