Pros: amazing view (if you get a terrace table with a view). Excellent (and very fresh) seafood. Very good local wines. Cons: having to book 3 days in advance and ending up with a table with only 1 seat with a view (book early in peak season!). Pretty expensive, even by cinque terre standards. This is the first place we... More

A lovely experience and a beautiful view! We didn't get in without a reservation, and were able to make one for the next night instead. It sounded like reservations for larger parties should be made further in advance. We ordered several of the waiter's suggestions and they were delicious! Squid ink pasta, mixed grilled seafood salad, desserts were really good.

Can't beat the view here--it's right over the sea, close as you can get to the ocean in Vernazza. The fish feels equally fresh, as does the pasta. And all served up by waiters who couldn't be more amicable or more helpful. Definitely worth dinner, even if you're not staying in Vernazza and need to train in!

Great food especially the sea food. Unbeatable location in the heart of Vernazza up a steep set of stairs - but so is everything in Vernazza. Only issue was the persistent flies/bees that hung around trying to share our meal. Make a booking in busy periods or you won't get a table.

Food was really good. The best things were amazing view and fantastic domestic wine (Cinque Terre) with extremely polite service. Value for price ;)

You cannot beat the view over the sea, the wonderful staff, and very good food. We went 3 out of 5 nights. In part because, Andrea, our waiter was such a delight, not to mention very, very funny and the food was delicious. But, best of all was sitting perched over the sea while Andrea did his magic, the chefs... More

We recently visited Vernazza and stumbled upon Belforte. Although usually fully booked, by a small turn of luck the waiter was able to sit us where we had an excellent view of the ocean and the other towns of Cinque Terre. The waiter had an extremely good level of English and took the time to ensure we understood the specials... More

If staying in The Cinque Terre, especially Vernazza, Restorante is a must! We had one of the best dining experiences ever on a recent visit to Italy. First of all the setting: on the base of an old tower, dining areas are high and an different levels. We had dinner there on a gorgeous sunset evening, and the view of... More

I had the privilege of eating at Belforte over a year ago while visiting my son stationed in Italy. I can honestly say it was the best restaurant we ate at in Italy and a highlight of my trip! The food is amazing but the atmosphere and food together make it a true experience! We were there on a Saturday... More

Amazing place and surroundings in lovely Vernazza! Highly recommended for lunch or dinner. Reserve a table (on top if possible)
