This was one of our best meals in Italy and the friendliest service encounter, we had one of the brothers look after us he was simply entertaining. The food is brilliant the four of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals, seafood platters to start then the aubergine casserole, pesto gnocchi, ricotta and spinach cannelloni (yum!) and lasagne. We had dessert on... More

What do you think about a restaurant in which the first thing you see is a warning notice like this: "WE DO NOT SERVE EGGS!!!! PLEASE, DON'T ASK. THIS IS ITALY! EAT OUR FOOD." Unbelievable, isn't it? It seems to me that a place like this should be desert. If you go to "Riviera Romagnola" (I mean near Rimini, in... More

The owner (or his employer) was very arrogant with us. He moaned when we asked for coffee (he wanted us to have meals). Also while PARTIALLY cleaning the table he was very ironic, like, "how many coffees? 50?!!!) - we were only 6 people. Then, to cap it all he was being rascist as he mentioned Africa - like, he said... More

The brothers who own this place are passionate about their food and quite comical. The food was excellent. We had sardines at another location and the ones at the Pirate were so much better. We ate here twice for dinner and came for coffee each morning.

The food here was delicious, my partner and I had a starter to share, a main each and dessert. Some of the best food we've ever had, this restaurant deserves to be number 1 in the rankings. The twin brothers who run this place were hilarious and happy to chat. Service was very quick even though the restaurant was very... More

Such a pity to only be in Vernazza for one day, but if that happens to you as it did to us, bypass all the other establishments and go to Il Pirata. We were in a bit late, but the twins Cannoli not only dished up amazing food, but also entertained us to such an extent that I did not... More

(I am very easily pleased as a customer so keep this in mind when reading the following). We (maltese family) arrived at this bar/restaurant for a coffee around 3pm and he had several vacant tables. I immediately noticed a paper with a note saying "We do not serve eggs!!! Please don't ask. This is Italy. Eat our food" . Having... More

Wonderful culinary experience. We had two lunches during our stay in Cinque Terre. Both were delicious. Anything we ordered was very good in taste and looked awesome. Very friendly staff. Another advantage is that it is a little bit away from the very crowded coast of Vernazza, giving you the opportunity to be well served and enjoy your meal in... More

Had the best lunch of our trip at this restaurant! The 2 brother's were excellent hosts and the food was even better. Don't be fooled by it's "coffee shop" appearance, this quaint restaurant far exceeded our expectations. Make sure to take the waiters advice... he was spot-on with his suggestions.

The food was excellent at all meals. We ate there at least 10 times. The iced coffee was the hightlight, very hedonistic, but unfortunately not available every day.
