So Good, So Fun

This is a great place to get an afternoon drink or breakfast. The owner is super friendly--he came and chatted with us (and is hilarious). Highly recommend for a place to hang out and get some good food.

We stayed in Vernazza for a week and ate here 3 out of the 6 nights. We enjoyed the casual, friendly ambiance, along with the charming owners. Yeah, I suppose one could call him pushy in his recommendations, but he knows his stuff and his recommendations were spot on. You definitively need reservations if you want to be assured of... More

We ate here for dinner twice and breakfast three times. Everything is amazing! The best croissants, and beautiful fresh pasta. Massimo is a character and we thoroughly enjoyed his banter! We hope we will one day return! Thank again Massimo, from the Australians.

My husband and I had supper here twice during our stay in Cinque Terre. Such a lovely atmosphere with the lively twins that run the restaurant. The food is absolutely delicious!!!

This was a great find while hiking in Cinque Terra. It is budget friendly and the food is simple, but good. The highlight of stopping here are the twin brothers called the Cannoli twins. They are friendly and funny. They make this place to stop and eat worth it. It was entertaining to carry on conversation with the Cannoli twins.... More

My wife and I spent 4 nights in Vernazza, from 23 July through 27 July 2015. On the first morning, we went looking for coffee. Fortunately, we went away from the harbor, to the top of the hill. There we found Il Pirata delle Cinque Terre. We knew of this restaurant from reading Rick Steves review. We ordered cappuccinos, freshly... More

We had to wait 30 minutes for the train from 3.30 p.m. and wanted to have a drink at this Bar Caffe as the signpost outside says. After ordering a drink a waiter, I presume the ownner, came to us and said take we should order a lunch at this time of day. I told him that we just wanted... More

I thought this place was a lot of fun. There are two brothers that own this little spot, and they are characters! We started off there one morning for coffee and a pastry. They were very friendly and wanted us to try all sorts of things. I just wanted something plane and they joked that I was from "California". '... More

My wife and I shared a lunch here and the food was quite good. The host asked us a lot of questions, shared his opinions, made lots of jokes with everyone. It was very informal and gentle, lots of fun.

We had the BEST Panna Cotta ever at this restaurant. The Pirate is known for coffee and breakfast pastry (NO EGGS!! - don't ask). But we came back for dinner and it was a wonderful treat. With friends, we shared 5 entrees, every one was delicious. We followed up (at his suggestion) with the Panna Cotta and what a treat!
