We had tried to eat here on our first night in the lovely village of Riomaggiore but it was booked out so the next day we came down in the afternoon and made a booking which I think would be a good idea at all times as it was quite busy. Beautifully situated in a lovely old building overlooking the... More

This unassuming trattoria is in the marina in Riomaggiore. The chef is a true master. The seafood and pasta are delicious and the bread (made in the restaurant daily) is some the best we had in Italy. The waitress was polite, attentive, friendly and very helpful. We were delighted.

We ate here on our second night in Riomaggiore, and booked ahead to make sure of getting a table. The location is amazing, perched just above the little harbour. We opted for the tourist menu, which offered a reasonable range of choice at very reasonable prices, particularly for such a location. We enjoyed our meals, but were slightly bemused when... More

After a boat ride from Monterosso with great views, we stop in for lunch after reading reviews from Rick Stevens book. I had mussels in white wine sauce very large portion and my wife had seafood ravioli very good. Food was great, only down side was the waitress catered to locals.

This was my husband and I's first meal in Riomaggiore. We sat on the terrace with a nice view of the ocean. I had the trofie with pesto and my husband had spaghetti with clams. It was all absolutely delicious. No complaints at all.

The restaurant was recommended to us but the food tasted like it had been reheated and not very flavourful.

We enjoyed our lunch there. Fresh and well prepared seafood. Nice staff and service. If you are not on budget, this is a good place to eat when visiting Riomaggiore.

Came here by chance when looking for dinner with a view. Surly service (very unusual in Italia) but very good food and, sitting on the terrace outside, a great view of the harbour. We enjoyed our food but didn't linger.

When other places were closing post-lunch, La Lanterna remained open (they have a sign advertizing that), allowing us to have lunch later than norm. From our table, we had a very good view of the lagoon and the path towards it - we are into people-watching, so that was a positive. The service was more on an indifferent side, and... More

Everything was fantastic! Service magnificent, as was the food! My girlfriend is not much of a seafood lover and she adored the food here! It is so fresh and completely normally priced. I am getting a warm felling in my heart now when I write about this restaurant :-) And we came here solely by accident and at first only... More
