Overall worked out

We found this place by wandering off the main streets but initially were not impressed by a rather surly young waitress. We were also seated next to what seemed to be a cupboard but it turned out to be the bathroom. Fortunately, a more experienced staff member noticed what was happening and moved... read more

We had a wonderful evening here and a great meal here . the service was excellent . we were able to sit outside and enjoy dining. This is a quaint restaurant where it is nice and quiet. We enjoyed the evening here and would recommend others to enjoy this place.

I was concerned when we came across this restaurant as it appeared to be very touristy but the food was of excellent quality. Yes, they cater for all tastes, staff speak several languages, and are very helpful and polite, and therefore they cater to tourists. We had calamari entree, then steak stroganoff and spaghetti marinara. The steak was perfectly cooked... More

We chose this restaurant by walking through town and looking at menus. When we entered the restaurant, we were immediately seated in an area of our choice with one other table occupied. No problems at this point. We ordered water, wine, and food about 15 minutes later. The waitress asked if we wanted the pasta at the same time as... More

It was our last night in Monterosso. We had a huge and very good lunch in Manarola and were looking for a relatively light meal, finally tired of acciughe (and I love it and my wife has grown to love it too here) and seafood we dropped into Ristorante al Carugio which we had passed before but which has always... We happened upon this restaurant while wandering through Old Town Monterosso. The restaurant looked nice and the menu was appealing so we gave it a try, and we (4 of us) were very glad we did. We each had different meals, along with the house wine, and all was delicious. The waiter was friendly and helpful and it was just... More

We were looking at one restaurant after another in Monterosso and they all looked so touristy. This was on a side "street" the menu looked good and we were very hungry. Everything was very tasty. We had fried calamari and anchovies. I had a Ligurian "ravioli" triangles called pansotti with walnut sauce. My wife had her second fish soup. Different... More

This restaurant, tucked away on a side walking-street just off the main road has both indoor and outdoor tables. The food and the locally produced table wine were excellent. We had a fresh seafood appetizer, ravioli and a salad that were healthy portions. Oddly, having 2 ½ litres of wine was less expensive than a full litre. Having had a... More

First time to Cinque Terre for the 4 out of eight in our group. Our friends said they ate here before and it was great. One night, us newbies went out looking for food and this is where we came. The gnocchi, the ravioli and my dish, trofie in pesto were SUPERB! To Italian food, I'm not a newbie and... More

This is tucked away a little off the way road but that made it more appealing to me. Service is not that treat but the seafood dishes definitely made up for it. Wine is extremely affordable as were both dishes we got. I has the seafood ravioli and I won't forget how good it was for a long time to... More
