Wow, never knew anchovies could taste so good! Great place, pleasant, local fair but enough English to be nice for tourists.

Showed up a few minutes before they opened, but they gladly seated us and brought bread. The food was very good, and the wait staff, friendly and accommodating. We are vegetarian and they were more than happy to help us figure out what to order.

This one was recommended to us by the place we stayed at. We were there in May 2012 just after they re-opened. To hear stories of how deep the place was in mud only months before was amazing. The food was great and the atmosphere fantastic. Very friendly english-speaking staff. Highly recommended in a town where it can be difficult... More

After getting lost from our group in Monterosso - we were so fortunate to stumble upon Ristorante Al Carugio! It's tucked away just off the beaten path. We sat at a little table for 2 outside. The service was very good and the help were very pleasant to us! We started with a carafe of the house wine... it was... More

Had a great time at this restaurant. I loved the trofie with pesto, and the local house wine was some of the best wine we had on our whole trip! The staff was friendly and helpful as well. I accidentally left my jacket on the chair at the end of the meal and didn't realize it until two days later.... More

We started off with an excellent salad including tuna and shrimp, and they had no problem with our request to serve the seafood on a separate plate. Their seafood pasta and pesto was excellent and was the best of our trip. Our server was most pleasant and friendly. An excellent experience.

While I must say the food wasn't bad and the prices are fair, the locals and the staff here will blatantly show hostility towards Americans or tourists as if it is a birth right. While it this isn't a total outlier for Cinque Terre it was truly amazing to witness in the year 2013, especially given that the disastrous flooding... More

I will most definitely not be returning to this restaurant. My partner and I thought we'd give this place a go and have dinner here. While waiting for our meals to arrive, another couple consisting of two guys, same as us, arrived and sat in the table behind us. The waiter serving us, walked over to the waitress, the two... More

Just returned from a lovely, casual dinner at Ristorante Al Carugio. We found this cozy spot by chance on a rainy, cool evening in Monterosso al Mare. Our waitress was friendly, service prompt but not hurried. House wine is great. We had seafood pasta- it was wonderful and the pesto pasta- great as well. We shared a tomato mozzarella platter,...
