Must try dark chocolatto

Had a three flavor cone, lemon, dark choco and one can't remember. But dark choco gave me the best impression.

After hiking the paths we always treat ourselves to gelato. The melon and kiwi were excellent--the best flavours of our Italian trip. The only thing that keeps us from giving it a 5 is that they thought their cups had a deeper false bottom than most other gelaterias.

We'd been told how good the gelato was at this place so we decided to give it a try. The place had a long line which is always a good sign. The gelato was excellent but not the best we've had. They certainly had a wide variety of flavors.

We got crepes here one morning before we hiked from Manarola to Riomaggiore. I got the marmalade one and my boyfriend got lemon and sugar. We're both normally really healthy eaters and avoid sugar, but they were so delicious. It definitely put us in the mood for climbing the steps to Riomaggiore! The crepes are €4 - €4.50 which was... So so good. The home made gelati is devine. The flavours are sensational and so smooth and creamy. Pistachio was fantastic as was the strawberry. A few in there you might not usually see like salted peanut, and coconut (Also both very very good). We went back a few times - it was that good!

This gelato shop is located at the bottom of Manarola. Their portion sizes are generous. I actually broke out of my chocolate only and got 1 scoop of chocolate and 2 scoops of chocolate chip (which was extremely good!!!). My husband got lemon (which was very refreshing and light). The staff was very friendly.

This gelato was some of the best I had while I was in Italy. There was certainly no language barrier when it came to helping me to three scoops!!! Delicious!!!

My highest standard comparison is Grom hazelnut and dark chocolate gelato in Venice. This place in manaraola was good but not quite as good as Grom.

Very friendly staff and generous portions. Delicious and home-made. Try the fondente (dark chocolate) and the stracciatella.
