Italian Food That You Hope For

Manarola is a quaint Italian seaside village...right out of a painting. La Scogliera is the restaurant that belongs in the painting. I ordered the pasta with seafood and my daughter had the gnocchi with Gorgonzola. Both were incredible! The cheese plate appetizer was to die for as well. The... read more

After hiking from Monterrosso to Vernazza in the morning and then exploring Riomaggiore, we decided to view the nativity lights of Manarola. Arriving late afternoon in mid January, this was one of the few places open. Ordered walnut cake for afternoon tea and was not disappointed. After viewing lights decided to have dinner there as well. Pastas were great. Staff... More

After walking for quite some time, we got tired and hungry. We saw this restaurant which had the Trip Advisor decal so we went inside. The lunch rush was over so we had a choice of seats. The service was good but sometimes non-existent. The food came right away. We ordered some pasta and seafood that we saw in pictures... More

I'm a little suspect because I love Manarola to bits!! But this restaurant is just amazing: - the staff is kind, funny and very helpfull; - the anchovies are a bit of heaven (and I thought I didn't like them); - the homemade pastas are so so good; - the athmosfere is very romantic; - and the price is totally... We had eaten here on a previous trip some eight years ago and had been treated very well, so we returned on our first night in town. Back then, the menu was all in Italian, and I remember our waiter cautioning us against ordering two dishes because they were too much alike. Times have changed, and they now have an... More

We came here for my husband's birthday dinner and were not disappointed. The food was delicious, but what really stands out for me was the impeccable service and how well we were treated. It will be on my must visit list should we get back to the area anytime in the near future.

Truly spectacular food! We had dinner there twice and the 4 of us were all happy on both occasions. My husband had the most magnificent seafood chowder one night - full of anything you can think of to make it perfect! All our pasta dishes were perfect!

Very crowded @ lunchtime-short wait for table. Think it's luck of the draw with what you order. I had a very nice salad while my wife had pasta. Only average really. Service was reasonable.
