Unlike most TA reviews, I cannot recommend this restaurant. Poor location, unspectacular decor, unfriendly staff and way overpriced. The filet was good though.

A truly very, very bad experience! Been to strabacco with my family of 4, no great expectations but to get a good meal at a quarter-restaurant, based on earlier reviews and average rating on trip advisor. Certainly, the people at strabacco pride themselves a lot about their trip advisor ratings, with a lot of posters outside in inside the restaurant.... More

My wife and I are just back from the charming and history-rich city of Trieste, one of the hidden pearls of Italy. It is located very close to the border with Slovenia. It is a city with a wonderful mix of many different cultures. Not far from Trieste's Cathedral we found this little gem called Strabacco. With typical Italian flair,... More

We recently had dinner at Stra Bacco and unfortunately I came away with a slightly different perception of this restaurant than most TA reviewers. The local is situated in a quaintly decorated older building, featuring a rustic wood motif. Tables were set with nice tablecloths and quality eating utensils (including a great steak knife.) There was a constant annoying mix... More

If you are looking for a place where to enjoy excellent food in a friendly atmosphere with discreet yet helpful service look no further. At Strabacco we found the whole meal experience was perfect. From the warm welcome on arrival, to the perfect timimg between courses to the quality of the food (I personally recommend the steak as it is... More

Tucked away on a tiny side street, Strabacco is not to be missed. Great service, delicious food, welcoming ambiance. The owners Santo and Gio are dedicated to finding the best meats and local produce for their meals. The grilled meats were to perfection, and my friends who had pasta were very pleased. The appetizers were original and delicate leaving plenty... More

A very nice restaurant; english menu available. Steaks highly recommended, as is the prosciutto, celery, tomato and parmasan starter. Opens 1945.

Full on grill restaurant were you can enjoy the best Tagliata in Trieste. Cooked slowly on the wood fire to perfection. (expect some waiting if you order a big pice of meat) Friendly Santo and Gio told us that the meat comes from a farm in England and in their opinion is the best meat they can find on the... More

What a fantastic restaurant. I had lamb, perfectly cooked, and my wife had the beef which I’m told was amazing. The waiter spoke great English (not surprising given he used to live in London) and they had an English translation menu. Great service, meal for two including wine 80 Euros. Best to make a reservation.

We had a full dinner menu at this unique place and it was extraordinarily delicious and well presented. The prices are one the higher side for Trieste but very well worth it. The service was excellent in both Italian and English (we spoke both proficiently). Also, the menu was available in Italian and English. Overall an outstanding experience and a... More
