Oct 2 While staying 2 nights in Trieste, we had two memorable dinners. One was at La Tavernetta last night. Truly wonderful. Tonight we ate at Nerodiseppia. It was fortuitous for our group that both were within walking distance of our Hotel Savoia Excelsior Palace. We were seated at a single, long table under the chalkboard menu. Signora Valentina, my... When we come to Trieste we never fail to visit this wonderful small restaurant. We love the family atmosphere, the simple but smart decor, the friendly service, the local wine from Carso and, of course, the food, which is mainly fish. I particularly like the spaghetti with bottarga, the fish carpaccio and the triple fish tartare. The desserts are "historic".... More

Positives: enthusiastic happy staff provIded competent efficient service, good food, especially enjoyed the octopus salad and the orata fish. Generous portions. Two could share most dishes, especially if you have several courses for your meal. Reasonabe prices, especially for the wine. Negatives: need a reservation-they get busy.

The dishes were small and too expensive for the price they used canned olives in my pasta dish, but the other flavors were good, so were the fried anchovies. Dessert was simple, and there no no service charge, so not too much to complain about.

Dear BObby28! We regret to see that you find too pricey our restaurant. We only use fresh fish that's why our rates cannot be the same of frozen products! We regret to inform you that we have never used canned olives! We use fresh olives that comes from Trieste, Slovenia and Croatia. We hope to see again maybe you can... More

We loved this restaurant! Service was wonderful, because we felt that they really love to do this, and not because they have to be polite. A kind woman explained everything and suggested us very tasteful local wine and dessert. We ordered a fish carpaccio, which was fresh and made from the best 'source' of ingredients. As a main course we... More

Based on TA reviews and my hotel's suggestion, I had a late dinner here last night. The hotel called but they said they were full. I walked over anyway around 9:30 and was lucky that a table was available. To begin, I ordered the trio of seafood tartare, shrimp, tuna and salmon. Each seafood is presented in a little mound... I actually discovered this restaurant by Tripadvisor, and wasn't disappointed. I wanted to treat a friend to a nice lunch on a day trip to Trieste, but failed to locate it. After asking many people where to find "Cuttlefish ink" in Italian, and feeling slightly silly and frustrated, I finally got help. A kind gentleman showed us the way, but... More

We were lucky to get the last table for a mid-week dinner at this cute family-run trattoria. Our service was outstanding, attentive without being annoying, and the table was ours for the rest of the night. We really appreciated not being rushed out for a second set of diners! The food was also good, though my pasta with tuna and... More

I had a business dinner at this restaurant, coming from London. The fish was excellent, both the seafood salad as a starter and the sea bream with asparagus as a main. Good wine, tasty dessert and very attentive and kind staff make this an excellent place for an excellent meal without being too formal. Highly recommended.

Perfect atmosphere, full of local people, excellent food, charming, efficient and friendly staff.. Gluten free pasta with seafood was perfect and the gnocchi was superbly light and tasty......and the sorbets a perfect end to an excellent lunch.
