Just off a large avenue, this wonderful place with only a few tables is quiet and homey, with the food cooked behind the counter. Best to make a reservation. If you want fresh seafood and excellent pasta with local wine, this is a great place. It will help to know some Italian, but they will do their best to help... More

This little osteria with only 4 tables is absolutely the best in Trieste. I have been visiting the place everytime I was going to Trieste since 2008. If you are for good food, warm atmosphere and sincere keepers, this is the place. Good for lunch and dinner. Best to have a researvation in a day or two in advance. The... More

A no-frill, minuscule restaurant, which can sit about 20 customers (book a few days ahead). I was not impressed by the appetizers (the best was the octopus and potato salad, albeit it was a little too salted; they tell me that their mussels sauté is remarkable, but it was not available the evening I went). Pasta dishes, very good (I... More

Delightful experience all around. Delicious shrimp antipasto - so fresh, not like like the watery, fishy things we get at home. Decor so homey and charming, friendly staff, and even had Golden Oldies playing. Not fancy, but fresh and delicious.

We have eaten all over Italy and really looked forward to dining here. We were so disappointed! Not only was the antipasti all precooked and 'pickled', the main courses were terrible. We ordered a pasta with zucchini and shrimp and a local fish dish. The shrimp was not deveined and was overcooked to rubber. The zucchini was so cooked it... More

My Italian being as good as their English, my order consisted in three nods and a shrug. It turned out I had not ordered a starter, but the main course, pasta with mixed seafood, was lovely. You could tell they thought I was mad, but I was just as confused as they were. A pocket dictionary might help, or a... More

This is one of those great places that you'd never find without TA: we went twice during our short stay in Trieste. There's no menu and the owner will tell you what she has that day: fantastically fresh seafood and pasta. Only Italian spoken but very patient with us: you need a little of the language and a reservation.

on a side road in the center of trieste, there were perhaps 5 tables, but the seafood was out of this world, the service great, and the owner went out of her way to make us feel welcome, particularly after she found out that alberto, from casa sconta b& b, had sent us.

This was not only a dinner but a cultural experience about Trieste. You must reserve your table advanced because there are only 3-4 tables available. The ladies working there are so nice and welcoming people. There was no menu and no english speaker. But dont worry. They know how to make their visitors happy. We had 3-4 kind of starters... More
