Excellent restaurant in trieste

The food is really superb! Sure it is also one of the more expensive restaurants in Trieste, but it is well worth the price. I had a simple pasta with pesto and shrimp, but wow the flavors! To find this restaurant is quite a feat, but it is worth it! It is historic s Italo Svevo, the writer ate here. The restaurant is tucked away in a quiet street in the center of Trieste. We sat outside in the sun. There are two parts, one id more basic in look than the other and it is slightly... More

Lovely popular little restaurant in the old Jewish quarter behind the main piazza with a few outside tables. Food and service were very good at this great place recommended to us by our hotel. The food is innovative and beautifully prepared and presented. We enjoyed all that we tried but especially the lamb. Great range of meat and fish dishes... More

Our hotel recommended this restaurant for both meat and seafood. The atmosphere was elegant country style. Fine tablecloths and appointments. Service staff extremely polished, refined and efficient. We ordered both a seafood and beef dish. Both were extremely satisfying. Before our dining began, we were presented with a complimentary first dish of white asparagus broth with a fish ball. Wonderful... More

My wife and I shared the saffron risotto which was superb. The restaurant is known for seafood but we both had the rack of lamb. Delicious! One of the memorable meals on this trip to Italy.

My friend and I were in Trieste for a weekend and asked where was good to eat, 90% of locals recommended this gem. We arrived and were greeted warmly by the staff. We decided to go all out and have the fish taster menu, which involved 8 courses and a variety of wines to accompany each course. I can honestly... More

Lovely atmosphere, warm welcome, charming service. Tucked away in a back alley surrounded by antique shops, busy but an island of calm. The famous appetizer of chopped raw fish is everything it is cracked up to be, and a very substantial starter. The spaghettini with shrimp was very good (though there is better in town ) and the turbot very... More

I had diner here with a group of 17 people. We had 7 courses, all looking very nice, and delicious. I don't know about the price because the group leader paid; but I would say that it is worth a try!

After having very mediocre food at Caffe San Marco and poor food at Buffet Marascutti yesterday, I was happy to have eaten at Chimera di Bacco tonight. Contrary to what some reviews said, I found the interior dominated by pastel lavender (walls, curtains, candle holders, candles and some furniture) a bit too cosy for my taste. The complimentary mis-en-bouche was... More
