Loved the fish soup, and special pasta offered which had a mixed seafood sauce. The calamari entree was the best calamari we've had here. Very tender, stuffed, simple light oil sauce. Topped off dinner with a chocolate stuff crepe for dessert. We shared each of the dishes mentioned, had 2 glasses of wine, and 2 small botles of water. All... More

Excellent seafood -- the fish soup is a standout -- made with fresh, local catch. It's a small, family-run place with real attention to serving fantastic food. On a trip where we generally ate pretty well, Antipastoteca sticks out as a real find.

Not far from the city centre, yet secluded, on the corner of a peaceful residential area, the Antipastoteca di Mare will welcome you with all the warmth and coziness a traveller may look for. Thiry-three years of excellent cousine and familiar atmosphere has made this place the favourite spot of many a returning customer, mostly locals. You can taste top... More

We were very pleasantely surprised by this small and cosy place that makes you feel immediately very Welcome! The owner was very friendly and explained all the suggestions in a very spontaneous way. The food(especially The fish soup!) was delicious and not expensive.

This place was recommended to us by a local and did not disappoint. It's not a flashy looking place nor is it touristy. We were baffled with choices but our waiter helped us to decide on a tasting plate that way we could try several dishes. Attention to detail for every dish was amazing. The flavours and herbs and spices... More

Hidden behind the castle, at the very end of a small street, Antipastoteca di Mare is not an easy place to stumble across. Two of my favorite, wonderful fish tavernas for both ambiance and food are Sunger in Bodrum, Turkey and Fish Taverna in Lorret de Mar, Spain, and It was great to walk into Antipastoteca and find another Italian... Walked in and was refused service and had patrons checking us up and down. Felt like it was the first time they saw a person that is not white.

We were directed to this amazing little trattoria for our first lunch in Trieste, we had said we wanted to eat fresh local fish at a reasonable price. Well this is the place! The ambience is quirky and the tables are few but it's a testimony to the quality of the food and the service that this restaurant is always... More

This tasteful restaurant is a small place located within walking distance from downtown Trieste and its beautiful Piazza Unità d'Italia. Here you can have traditional dishes including the amazing zuppa di pesce (fish soup) served with polenta, sardoni, anchovies, seabass, bream and many others. Don't forget to get mussels as well. Local fresh seafood of the day at reasonable price... More
