Traditional Triestin food, good quality and nice service. Be careful with the bill, sometimes they charge it only because you are a tourist. Bear in mind that you can only eat boiled meat and potatoes. But this is a very traditional place that you should visit at least once if you are coming to Trieste.

I went to dinner to the Buffet da Pepi given its legendary status among Trieste's traditional restaurants. It is not precisely a budget restaurant (18 euros for dinner for one, comprising one course, 2 small sides and a single glass of mediocre wine). The dish was a mix of different cuts of pork and sausages, good but not outstanding. The... More

We had lunch here in late Dec 2014. For its rustic meat dishes and decor the pricing was well over the odds. Food was fine for what it was, but value extremely poor. Waiter was unhelpful, e.g. he failed to give us a menu, then railroaded our choice, after denying we could have a Panino di porcina (pork sandwich), even... More

BUFFET DA PEPI Another Trieste classic you can't miss! This is similar in "authenticity" to Trattoria Da Giovanni. Prices in proportion are a bit higher here, but it's a must visit for tourists who want to experience the real local taste. Da Pepi, also called "Pepi Sciavo" informally in Trieste (Sciavo is pronounced "schah-voh" and it's a very informal and... More

A must in Trieste for real meat lovers. Needless to say anything else. Authentic, delicious and homey.

If you like boiled porc, this ist the place to go when in Trieste. You can choose fro a vide variety, get great Sauerkraut along with it, mustard & freshly grated horseradish; it is actually a snack but you won't need anything more to eat for the rest of the day... and the atmosphere is unique, especially in the interior... I was looking for a place to eat a nice sandwich . I ordered a cheese panini, and I ended up with a piece of ordinary cheese between stale bread, not the slightest trace of garniture, or a drop of sauce. 6€ for that a,d a bottle of water is a shame .

One of the oldest in Trieste, nice place to grab a bite while walking around in the city. Service is fast.
