My very good friend told me about this buffet and toke me inside. Not very much to see inside and do not expect smiling faces from the staff they are all old school waiters dealing with a lot of people(2 times I was in this buffet and it was crowded with germans, austrians, english and local guests of course). It isnt the... More

Somehow, this place got the fame of being expensive. It is not. You can have a large plate if pork speciality for less than 10€, add a beer and some potatoes, or grab a couple sandwiches, and you have a satisfying meal for very little money. True, it is pork, but in this part of Europe pork is the most... More

This is a must when in Trieste. Old school Italian deli with the most delicios assortement of everything pork. I would recommend salami plate to the first time visitors and porchetta sandwich with horseradish and mustard when just passing by. But don't forget to make it a regular pit-stop.

If you want to live like a local, then have at least one meal here Its simple, basic, but perfect. The pork melts when you eat it, well portioned too, remember this is really a lunch time snack diner. Anyway, will definitley go back when I next visit the area

our first dinner in Trieste has been in this place, but we were very disappointed. A small portion, very ordinary pork and you pay too much for what you get.

The best roast pork rolls with mustard and grated fresh horseradish ever eaten. Sauerkraut as a side dish went down well. Platters of all types of meat look delicious. Apple strudel just like mother used to make. The beer went down a dream and the service is A1. Been there twice in two weeks and the meat always tender. Hope... More

maybe not cheap, exception done for the take-away sandwiches, but here you can eat the best typical pork-meat dishes of Trieste, I recommend "carrè" and "porzina" (with a lot of horseradish of course!), simply delicious. You have to try it if you come in Trieste!

The buffet "da Pepi" is a must-visit place, because is part of the (gastronomic) history of Trieste. It is not elegant, just good, but it is famous for his pork meat - ("porzina") - sausages and specialties of Central Europe. It is located in the very hearth of the city, so it is an ideal stop if you are in... More

Da Pepi's has been serving up tradition Trieste cuisine for the past 120 years. The local is tiny, plainly decorated with ho-hum service. Nevertheless, the food is excellent. The primary features on the menu are a vast assortment of boiled meats, a standard staple in this region of Italy. My favorite is the boiled pork (porcine), but there are all... More
