Description: The atmosphere is as sophisticated as an old 40's black and white movie, but at the same time, as inviting, creative and warm as a contemporary New York restaurant. The cuisine, with meat and fish specialities, is characterised by a tradition which has been reinterpreted in an exquisitely creative manner. In addition to the air-conditioned interiors, in summertime one can dine on the outside terrace. The Owner, Sante Milandri has been a restaurant owner since 1982. In 1998 he left "Bistrot Clardge" in Cesenatico (one of the first restaurants on the Riviera to focus on a refined clientele, as well as a younger one) and he moved to Ravenna where he set up the Spasso Bistro. The interior designer and co-owner of the Alexander restaurant carried out the refurbishment work in full respect of the history of the building. The first reports dating back to 1840 when it was used as a residence and later like restaurant. The seating capacity is sixty in what was once the stalls and a further forty seats are available in the circle.

We went there for dinner after reading some good reviews and we weren't disappointed. The restaurant itself, set-up in an old cinema, offers a unique atmosphere, with large volumes, mixing retro-style furniture with more modern features, resulting in a very stylish and original place. The food is simply excellent - if you don't know what to try, just go with... More

Creative, delicious menu degustazione from a young chef already making his mark. A great idea to rescue this old cinema and turn it into a restaurant. Not a trattoria but an experience in sophisticated Italian cuisine and good value for money.

I went to this restaurant with a group of English-speaking tourists. While we expected some difficulties with understanding our orders - there were no concerns. While the prices were high, and we were treated "questionably" because we did not order the tasting menu, I would strongly recommend the seared tuna!

This restaurant is a mystery. Judging from hie or her food, this is one of the best chefs in Italy. So why are they working in a somewhat obscure restaurant in Ravenna? All I know is that, having eaten all over the world, this was one of the best meals I've ever had. There are two tasting menus (menu degustazione),... More

This was an amazing meal from start to finish. The service was wonderful, the food outstandingly good, and the atmosphere of the old theatre was fascinating. We would go there again in a heartbeat.

Delicious food, friendly and professional service, great atmosphere. This was our first experience of real fine dining and had we have had the time we would have gone back for more. The best food we have ever had in Italy and we have lived here 11 years.

We came 3 times in one week with my wife, once with a friend. We wanted more but one of our friend was willing to try other restaurants. We tried the menus, sea and earth menu, then we asked to try the food by surprise. We were like in heaven. Being in the Dante's city, we recommand to have the... More

We were traveling around Italy and this place was by far the best place we had eaten at! Modern, clean, comfortable setting with outstanding homey, comfort food. We just missed the days when they have live Opera singers. Great food and service and local entertainment, it doesn't get any better than this!!

Superb food in interesting surroundings. Creative menu and good wine list at prices that are a pleasant surprise if you're used to UK restaurants of this quality. Probably the best food we had in a 2 week tour taking in Milan, Cinque Terre, Florence, Ravenna and Venice. Deserves 5 stars and more.

We just came back from an awesome dinner at Cinema Alexander, where we were astonished by the quality of all dishes, the nice ambiance, the service and the general value offered to us. At €35, the "menu degustazione" is impressive value for money: it included 2 antipasti ("chianina beef tartare" and "squacquerone cheese flan and chanterelles on a soft polenta... More
