Description: La Forchetta" restaurant is situated in the heart of the old town...
La Forchetta" restaurant is situated in the heart of the old town centre of Parma, in one of the most beautiful and oldest buildings in the city, just a few steps from the Duomo and the Battistero. It is family-run and offers the finest of Parmesan cuisine as well as fish dishes, accompanied by the best wines. Tortelli stuffed with spinach and pumpkin, duchessa di Parma, braised veal cheeks, fish crudité, scallops in a salt and pepper crust, lobster tagliolini, tuna steaks and Catalan salad, are just a sample of the variety of our menu. Our bread and pasta are all home-made in the old-fashioned way and we are particularly careful in our choice of ingredients. It is also possible to eat outside. A visit to La Forchetta means enjoying a moment of pleasure, a delight to the taste buds, in the city of taste and fine cuisine!

We had the "culatello zibello" Parma ham for a starter course. Simply divine here! Our mains were rack of lamb and pork slow cooked and served with polenta. With a side of grilled vegetables. The rack of lamb was lightly "breaded" with ground pistachios. A superb dish. The polenta was the best we´ve had on this trip. We had a... More

We have owned a house in Italy since 2007 and go there a lot as you can imagine. In Northern Italy there is a rivalry between Bologna and Parma as to who is the culinary capital of Italy. Knowing this we went to Parma 18 months ago and loved it. When we took my bother and sister in law this... More

we arrived late. Some diners were still finishing lunch but we were told a table would be available. We shared a rabbit pasta followed by delicious breaded lamb chops, the vegetables were boring and some sort of potatoes would have accompanied the meat perfectly. We felt guilty as staff were setting the tables around us ready for the evening the... More

We have been talking about this lunch ever since we left Parma. We sat outside on a fine October day. Service was great. We split the prosciutto and melon (perfect ) and each had a glass of wine. My white, from Fruili, was delicious. My boyfriend ordered the lunch special, pasta with porcini, and I had the risotto. Both were... More

I had a wonderful lunch here. It's such a treat to eat superb food and excellent wine in a quiet setting with excellent service - courteous and attentive. The clientele when I was there was mostly Italian - always a good sign. It's not cheap - but is well worth it. The restaurant is just a few steps from the... More

A medium sized restaurant near the main square. It is old but bright. Everything was great, from the service to the magical bottle of Barolo wine. I would kill for another asparagus flan starter, really a course mousse with bacon croutons in a chees sauce. Followed by the chicken wrapped in Parma ham...mouth watering yet? My girlfriend told them it... More
