Authentic experience Parmigiana

Although quality seems to have dipped in recent years due to a change in ownership, this still remains a firm favourite of ours for a truly Parmigiana experience. Charming environment off a tiny street, great entrance through the area where they prepare anti-pasta. Outstanding food and service and a lot of fun.

We had a fluffy artichoke flan, pickled vegetables and puffed up "fried bread" (which was amazing by the way!) to start, risotto parmigiana, lasagne emilia as our main course, a shrared dessert of crumbly almond cake, half litre of frizzante Malvasia white wine, San pelligrino water, one coffee and one limoncello for a tad over €40 for the two of... Nice selection of salumi and torta fritta to start, followed by the classic tortelli d'erbetta (spinach and ricotta) and zucca (pumpkin). The pumpkin was significantly sweeter than I remember. We went for late lunch (2pm) without a reservation at the end of January 2015. It was pretty quiet and with some local people, we were the only tourists. Here are what we ordered: - Talgliolini al Culatello (pasta with meat) - Parmigiana di Melanzane (eggplant with cheese) - Tortelli di Zucca (pumpkin) - 24-month old parmigiano-reggiano cheese (since we... This is without any doubts my favourite restaurant in Parma. I have been here quite a few times and I have always liked everything. One can have a real taste of Parma's cuisine. Honestly, anything on the menu is delicious. Moreover, the service is excellent and the owner has always found a table for us even though it was very... More

We had lunch here. We started with the artichoke and lasagna, which were fine. We also ordered the evaluatie and eggplant parmasan. Also just an average taste. The bread served with it was hard.

When we went in we were not at all hungry, me having eaten 3 lunches during the day. But the food was great, - so we had the ham, aubregine parmigiana, ravioli, gnocchi, veal steak, tiramisu and of course the HORSE meat thing. All was top notch tasting. Some waiters speak English, some don't but service was sharp and we... More

Came here in the hope of having some incredible Italian food in the heart of Italy.. So the good reviews on trip advisor led us here.. Turned up without a reservation, and got a table in 5 minutes. Table was on a permanent slant in a small room up stairs with 3 other tables. Ordered white wine, we got red.... More

This place got us in last minute for a dinner reservation the same evening. It's a romantic location- we were seated upstairs in a room with three other tables. The food is really well priced. We would have had a three course meal for two people for $40 ish if we didn't buy the $40 Bordello (which wasn't worth it... More
