A few meters off Via Emilia in the centre of town, this establishment delivers traditional and local dishes of a quality one might hope for and maybe expect . On a typical Modenese winter day- cold and misty- the inviting interior wraps you in its cosy ambiance, created with discreet, subdued lighting, photo- and picture- covered walls, an agreeable, homely... We went to eat at lunchtime. From the begging we felt like home. The service was very friendly and helpful. For primi piatti we took tortelloni di ricotta, which was amazingly light and cheesy at the same time. For secondi piatti from our waiters suggestion we took the tasting menu of local meats and cheeses and breads (gnocco fritto e... More

We had been walking around Modena for about an hour late at night trying to find something to eat, and we passed this place on our way. It looked good from the outside and was filled with people even at 10.30 pm. We took a seat and got a look at the menu; only local dishes. We ordered two plates... More

We stumbled across this place by accident and absolutely loved it. The service was very friendly, the waitress took the time to run us through the menu and give advice as to what to choose. The Gnocco fritto with cold meats are a must try speciality in that region, as well as the "Tagliolini funghi porcini e speck" (green pasta... More

We came here at the end of a half day trip to a Parmesan producer and Balsamic Vinegar producer. We sat down and immediately we were inundated with delicious pasta dishes. Followed by small piadina, fried puff pastry, cheese and meats. The food was great- in the end we could not eat everything, but we definitely tried. Go early- before... More

If you eant a good taste oftortellini with cream it is the right place. The restaurant suggest an average mood, but the meat is lower than the average.

Very small restaurant in the very heart of modena. Book in advance because it's always packed! you can choose among 3 types of pasta or have a tris (taste of all of them).they have also "secondi" which is normally meat with a side dish but if you want a proper traditional dinner from modena, which you can't have anywhere else... Good dinner at the 'Il Fantino' (The Jockey, litterally) wich only seve typical menu, fresh pasta, and the traditional 'Gnocco & Tigelle' which is nothing else than a sort of very thin deep fried pasta (gnocco) and a special kind of bred (Tigella) both of them to be eaten with Parma Ham & salami, cheeses, vegetables etc. suggested for unformal...
