We thought having find a great restaurant in Modène, whereas lots were closed for annual holidays, the food was good and the owner seems to be very nice. But something were strange : no menus, no prices. It's just at the bill moment that we understood that we've been abused. 68e for 2 primi piatti, 1 segundo piatti, 2 desserts... More

This is my "must do" stop every time I pop into Modena. The owner is quite peculiar and might put you off if you are a shy person. But if you can take her crazy attitude you will definitely experience one of the BEST italian meals, just like grandma does it for you at home. (Trust me, I am italian!)

When you go here, don't expect your usual dinner. Most of all, don't be too uptight and strict, because here you'll find the real, fun, rude Italian madness! A bit pricey, but the food is great, and Ada is the best!

The owner is crazy...simply crazy. She leads the cuisine and service tipically by herself, with her continuous strange mood...but she is the real queen of the restaurant! Ifyou go there, you must be prepared to be joked. The choise of courses is limited, but this is due to what she findfresh at the market in the morning. One of the... More

This restaurant was suggested to me by the front desk clerk at the Canal Grande Hotel. I was in Modena the weekend of the 17 August. Literally everything in Modena was closed for the summer vacation period. Many of the restaurants I researched prior to my trip were closed – mid august to the end of august. I arrived around... This is an astonishing restaurant, deservedly popular with the locals. Ada cooks and serves single-handed and generally runs the evening as a performance. There is no menu and she made no attempt to speak English, so some ability in Italian is essential. I was greeted on arrival as "il Presidente", someone else was "il Principe". I was given a round... On the Friday evening after a holiday Thursday we soon discovered that although we were out early we'd struggle to find a place to eat. This small restaurant was completely empty - the hostess spoke almost no English but with gestures we understood that if we ate there and then, she'd move a table around and squeeze us in!! There... I went to the restaurant, and they served the most amazing Octopus on roast potatoes with balsamico on top. Home made ice cream for dessert and the price was really low. If you get to Modena, this is worth a try :-)
