The owner and his wife was very friendly. Even though my husband and I had no idea what to order, we told them what we were looking for and they surprised us with amazing appetizers, wine, and best pasta ever!! They also brought out some dessert which we ate it within 30 seconds because it was so delish!! All the... More

Dinner last night at Osteria La Traviata, recommended for its fresh, house-made pasta. They have a menu, but it turns out to be better to just let the cheerfully motherly co-owner make recommendations (my wife's knowledge of Italian helped a lot there..). We had a delicious appetizer of peppers and zucchini in a kind of puff pastry/batter, followed by tagliatelle... More

We had late dinner - owner was upset as we didn't have wine and a big dinner. To my surprise the bottled water where tap water.... (I saw the waiter fill up the bottle), we where charged 2 euro per bottle!!! Service charge 3 euro per person is the highest we paid in Italy... Service charge was not written in... More

Had the misfortune to eat here when being shut out from our desired spot. The owner server pushed the expensive specials on us and although we know this strategy went along since our treatment in Italy had been so kind this trip. We make a better, more tender Osso Bocco at home. We were also overcharged for the number of... More

My friend and I were holidaying in Bologna in September and stumbled across this lovely family run hotel. We loved their fresh very tasty food so much so that we went back the following night. Great wine and we certainly didn't think it was pricey. I still dream of the fig ice cream!!!

We searched for a nice place to have our last dinner in Bologna and we called for a table, there was only one left so we went....walked 20 minutes and as we enter we felt so welcome! The owner which was our main waitress and she recommended the dishes, was so funny and friendly that it made our stay there... More

I don't see why there were so many great reviews. This place was AVERAGE. Food: The pasta dishes were very average and lacked flavor. Although, nice presentation and dessert was good. Service: average. The server pushed the specials (note: the locals were not eating the specials). You're not coming here for the service or the dining experience. Atmosphere: typically Italian... From the service to the food, you will enjoy this place. The ravioli with white truffles was as good as you'll ever have.

Looking for great food, looking for great service, well here it is. This family run place is just lovely, we were waited on by the older man (father?) and he was well spoken in English and spent time to help us understand the menu and mad some fantastic suggestions. When the meals arrived he also explained anything we went too... More

The decor is homely though the room is large and airy. The lady of the house recited to us the starters and main courses of the day and we went along with her suggestions. Our first courses were excellent fiori di zucca and a salad of artichoke, Parmesan and rocket which we greedily shared. The main course was roast veal.... More
