Classic - and friendly - Bolognese cuisine

We had been here 17 years ago for the 1st time and it's still the same lovely family run restaurant and you feel like a local. The food is made with the best italian ingredients. We had 2 lunches at la Traviata last week and we were the only tourists. This is a favorite with the locals.

This was our favorite restaurant in Bologna. We loved the family atmosphere, we loved the decor, and of course, the food was just amazing. I had the best pasta (pumpkin lasagna) I've ever had there. But everthing we had was delicious - The antipasta was delicious, the artichoke salad was delicious, the meat dishes were delicious, and the two desserts... More

This restaurant is run by a local family, and they're all really friendly. The food is delicious and the restaurant is always busy, full with locals. The menu isn't really necessary, because the owner always suggest specials that aren't there and they're very accommodating with changes to the dishes. Not to be missed while in bologna!

Another hotel reccomendation. Slightly outside town centre but within walking distance. Very much a locals restaurant and packed. Food very good . Husband and wife team with wife doing most of work with ordering and serving and husband handling wine and payment. Wife wanted one more glass of wine and we were surprised when he insisted upon opening another bottle... More

A great saturday lunch with family and friends. Very good starters (ham, cheese, gnocco fritto, and more), amazing first course (pappardelle and tortello)...and a great cake (mascarpone). Warmly suggested.

Mitch and the boys had a great late night dinner with friends and customers in this local little gem! Delicious pumpkin stuffed ravioli with a great anti pasta and bacon wrapped, pan seared mozzarella to start. Everything was great, nice bottle of Valpollacella and white table linens.

Very cosy and busy restaurant, frequented mostly by locals. The menu lists mainly Bolognese dishes. But if you talk to the owner, it turns out there are much more dishes that are not on the menu. So check to see what else is served. The food is great!

The owner and his wife was very friendly. Even though my husband and I had no idea what to order, we told them what we were looking for and they surprised us with amazing appetizers, wine, and best pasta ever!! They also brought out some dessert which we ate it within 30 seconds because it was so delish!! All the... More
