Sweet family run restaurant with excellent pastas. If the squash blossoms are in season & available - get them!

Not knowing where to eat in Bologna, and after having tried a few places that either weren't great or couldn't do much for my gluten allergy, we consulted the locals. We explained to the receptionist of the hotel just what we wanted - a lively place, not touristy, informal, favourite with the locals, with good atmosphere and good food. La... More

We were really excited to try this place after reading the reviews, but we left thinking the food was fairly average. Ragu is famous in this part of the land and we thought it missed the mark. The question is, would you go back or would you recommend it to a friend and my answer is no. By all means... More

Wonderful meal, wonderful host, wonderful evening. The owners were very patient with our lack of Italian language skills and very helpful, Stop reading, go.

We ate dinner here our last night in Bologna and my spouse and I looked forward to dinner since each night of our stay the restaurants our hotel recommended got better and better. When we entered the restaurant the chalkboard read spugnole and prugnoli, and although my spouse speaks some Italian he was at a loss. The enthusiastic English speaking... More

We never eat at a restaurant twice, but La Traviata was so good, we had lunch and dinner there. Antonio and his wife were the perfect hosts. They went over the entire menu (in English). The freshly sliced Italian hams and crescentini were excellent, followed by great pastas, along with a very nice Prosecco suggested by Antonio. For dinner we... More

A family driven osteria it is - more generations working here. The owners wife makes the pasta herself - we had the most wonderful pasta here! Try her tortellini with pumpkin - they are gorgeous! We tryed to order risotto - but the owner made us re-consider this: "we buy the rice - but we make the pasta..." The restaurant... More

This restaurant was so good that we dined here on 3 evenings out of our 7 day stay in Bologna. Clearly it is well appreciated by the locals. Antonio knows his wine and is delighted to offer guidance. His wife Manuela makes the pasta herself. The dishes are made to order and are fresh and delicious. Eating and drinking here... More

It's abit off the beaten tourist track, but that makes it even better. Prices were reasonable as was the house wine. The menu had so much choice, it was hard to choose, but pork and artichoke pasta and pannacotte for desert. Although apparently the mascapone and amaretto is supposed to be superb! Next time!

Simple but charming restaurant! The service was great with a smile and a laugh! And the food was just super, good, more than enough! A real place to visit!
