Superb little restaurant in Bologna. All the food we had was a very high standard. The starter of courgette flowers in a tempura batter was so tasty and different. We both had a pasta main and my simple ragu was excellent. Just one problem - the panacotta had sold out!!

Really authentic family run restaurant, very friendly and helpful with explaining about the special dishes, the food reminds you of real home cooking, fresh, natural and delicious, all washed down with a full-bodied local red wine, and all for about €65 for two, highly recommended.

My wife and I enjoyed the food and service so much that we ate dinner in this restaurant twice in three nights during visit in October. Pasta was homemade, entree specials were spectacular, and atmosphere was comfortable. I wish I could find a place like this at home. Husband and wife team both sat and talked with us on several... La Traviata is a wonderful neighborhood restaurant near the piazza in Bologna. Delightful ambience, delicious food, attentive service. They are happy to divide portions, which are enormous, which is very helpful. The wife offers dishes not on the menu and is creative in adapting to personal tastes. Love this place!

Had a delightful family meal after receiving a local recommendation from a person in the know. Had a typical meal: antipasti, hot bread pillows to go with, crescentine; tortellini pasta homemade from scratch, naturally, a bottle of house red, Sangiovese, and Tiramisu for dessert. Water, service, at €28/person. Filling and languorous meal. No need to have a secondi course, we... More

We went on a Friday night and managed to get a table, being early by Bologna standards. Food was ok but didn't live up to earlier reviws. Salad of Artichokes with parmesan flakes was disappointing, pasta with local mushrooms was ok as was the meat my companion had. The Ripasso was good. Service was ok but a little rushed. I... More

I went to La Traviata while I was on exchange in Bologna, upon the recommendation of my professor who is from Modena. It has been almost two years since that time and I still dream of the tortellini I ate and have not found anything comparable in my life. My experience was as such: Upon gazing at the menu, I... My wife and I are from Australia and dropped in to this excellent restaurant after making the trek up to Saint Luca and back. We could not get a dinner reservation which says a lot for the place...and it's all good! If you love ingredients at their best then this is a restaurant for you. Pleasant service, reasonable wine list... More

Lunch. Four people, three pastas. Heaven. Totally great service. Reasonable wine list. Marvelous lunch that totally captured Bologna. Reasonable prices. Local clientele. Zero hype.

The food was out of this world... If available, get the zucchini blossoms. The chef/owners were lovely and helped us choose meals to share. You can't go wrong with this wonderful restaurant where they still make their own pasta every day!
