A little confused as the name on the bill was Ristorante Cesarina whereas it's described here as Da Cesarina. However the address is the same, so has ownership changed? Irrespective, the service was impeccable and the food and wine similar. It is expensive but no more than one would expect for... read more

This restaurant was recommended by our hotel. We asked for authentic bolognese cuisine. The pasta was excellent also the fresh artichoke salad was also on the mark. The waiters were nice and timely. We have been in Italy a week and so far this was the best. Try the 3 pastas tasting special. The mortadella was cut in cubes where I... More

Cesarina is a delightful restaurant on Piazza San Stefano in Bologna. With the evening sunset still lighting the area, it was quite special. The attention from the several waiters made us feel like we were welcome. The food choices from our four people were not the most adventurous, but w all enjoyed the entrees and mains. Not a cheap experience... More

We ate here after our hotel recommended this restaurant and we couldn't fault it. The restaurant itself was idyllically situated by the 7 chieses on the square. It is traditional and modern all at once. Staff are very kind and friendly. However most importantly the food is delicious! We had to have the local speciality in Bologna; tagliatelle ragu! It... I always feel that it is difficult to write a review about a restaurant since tastes vary , but I would say that although the this restaurant is in a great position the food was average, the starter was soup and was fine , the main course was turkey ( may be we did not select too wisely ) was... We enjoyed a really good meal here of good italian food. The room is lovely and the waiters attentive and formal, it has a charm all of its own. I had the fish fritto misto which was delicious, the waiter obligingly pointing out when I ordered that it contained vegetables as well. I wasn't disappointed and it's not something you... More

What a spectacular lunch! While on the spendy side, the meal was superb, the wait staff in the white jackets were full of old-world class, and the atmosphere was authentic and full of discerning local clientele. There were numerous lunch business meals as well as couples here. Everything was just "right." The tortellini with butter and sage was magical -... More

Sat and waited and waited....to order, to receive food, to get bill. Not very attentive at all. Food good but overpriced.

I'm a little confused, because the client mentioned in the previous review (Alexandre) came in the same day, says the exact opposite. Best regards More

We wanted to have a casual dinner in our first night in Bologna, and this place had been recommended by an Italian friend. While we requested a reservation via email, and got a "we'll be right back to you" response, we never got a response and just showed up at 8 on a Saturday, which seems early, and had no... More
