We wanted to have a casual dinner in our first night in Bologna, and this place had been recommended by an Italian friend. While we requested a reservation via email, and got a "we'll be right back to you" response, we never got a response and just showed up at 8 on a Saturday, which seems early, and had no... More

This restaurant has a reputation for having some of the best tortellini in Bologna, and it did not disappoint. The tortellini themselves were excellent, and appetizers and second courses were also superb. The artichoke dishes as appetizers were especially good. Prices were also reasonable, and wines by the glass were thoughtfully selected. Excellent overall attention to detail. Other reviewers complained... More

Excellent meal. Started with a traditional tagliatelle al ragu. Main course FARAONA ALLA MODA DELLO CHEF i.e guinea fowl. Highly recommend this tasty and exquisiet dish as i have never come across this on any menu.

Food and service was wonderful. I would definitely return. My only complaint (and this applies to most Italian restaurants) is the ambiance is lacking...florescent lighting, bad art work, inexpensive and unattractive furnishings. Overlook these things and you'll have a wonderful meal. P.S. Have Italians heard of candles?

Great location but the food was average and the wine overpriced. The service was good but I wouldn't be rushing back too soon.

A beautiful spot to dine but sadly the food is a shade above mediocre. We went on a Sunday when not as much is open and hoped for the best. Have a drink or a coffee before dinner but eat somewhere else. And it's overpriced because of its location.

Had dinner here last night. The wine they recommended - Damilano, Liste from Barolo was spectacular. The tagliatelli al ragu and ossobuco cremolato were both excellent. The staff were all very friendly and provided good advice on the menu. The dessert was the low point - torta di riso. Other than the dessert, it was all very good.

I could not get a reservation in another restaurant and that is how I settled for Cesarina. I am glad I did. It was one of the best meals that I had in recent times. The poached egg, parmesan and truffle was a stunner. The mains Pork steak stuffed with ham, porcini and black truffle was delicious too. I also... More

We walked past this restaurant on our last Sunday in Bologna and it was in such a nice setting in a lovely square that we booked it for lunch. It was a delicious meal starting with fried courgette flowers, then amazing pasta stuffed with pumpkin. On their recommendation we shared a grilled turbot which was delicious. Bologna is full of...
