Open Air & Music (Jazz), Traditional Bolognese Cuisine

Me and my wife tasted traditional bolognese cuisine in our lovely dinner. We've made a reservation before we went there. Waiters speak English fluently. They demand money in the bill for the open air Music (jazz, live music), be careful. Ask for the locally produced wines, they taste lovely. As a... read more

This was another recommendation from my friend at the university whilst I was on sabbatical in Bologna..where can I go to hear some jazz and have dinner...and Marco said ' there is only one place in Bologna for that and it is Cantina Bentivoglio and once again I was not at all disappointed.I went to this place with my Dad... Great Location, "old world" feel, really nice people & wonderful food. My husband & I were here for a Pasta demonstration followed by a lovely lunch. The demonstration included the making of @ least 6 different pastas. They were highly informative & entertaining as well. A waiter was doing a Wine tasting across from the demo & @ the end,... More

We visited at lunchtime on a Uniworld River Cruise tour, so our experience will be quite different than most. First, there was no music. Even though this is a jazz club, we were here for a pasta making demonstration, followed by lunch. The pasta making demonstration was interesting and informative. The lady that we had demonstrating was amazing and the... More

Dissapointing food. Price was over inflated...but perhaps that was the cover charge for the band? Generally disorganized chaos. Service? What service? As one of the the first to arrive & order food, everyone around us who arrived after had their food come first...almost an hour before we ate.

It worked out OK. The band played in what felt like a cella, but was only a few steps down from the front section. Plenty of seating, I got a seat next to the stage. Food was quite good, service was ok. The band got better as the evening went on. Most the people sat around where I was seated... More

Everything was brilliant! Food was amazing and staff very friendly and helpful (we don't speak Italian). The band that was on that night was also amazing! a MUST DO in Bologna.

Second visit here, both business dinners and the food was pretty consistent. Good selection of specials, good wine selection and great atmosphere. Live jazz music was a plus! Service was good although we didn't quite get the help we needed with the wine selection, a minor detail and wouldn't put me off visiting again. Worth a visit.

We hadn't made a reservation, so we arrived at opening time - 8pm. We learned that the jazz group would not begin until 9:30, but this was not a problem because the waiters did not rush us, and we took more than two hours to get through our hearty meal. A large serve of tagliatelle - good, and large fillet... More
