Just eat it (right now, if you can)

This was the best gelato we had in Italy. Hands down. Easily accessible right in the heart of Bologna. Nothing can be said to describe the creaminess of this other worldly gelato. The coconut and pistachio are phenomenal. The coffee and bacio are outstanding. The chocolate fondente is... read more

This was the best gelato we had in Italy. Hands down. Easily accessible right in the heart of Bologna. Nothing can be said to describe the creaminess of this other worldly gelato. The coconut and pistachio are phenomenal. The coffee and bacio are outstanding. The chocolate fondente is incomparable. There were lines almost every time we went (and we went... More

We ate a lot of good gelato in Italy, but this by far was the best one. Part of the reason was the Alice flavor, a creamy vanilla-mascarpone flavor with an incredibly, high quality melted chocolate sauce Locating this gorgeous modern venue is a little challenging to locate on Piazza Cavour, but not do not miss this!

One of the best things cooking instructor did (in my opinion), was introduce us to the best gelato on this trip. My friend once told me, "I am not normally a gelato person, but somehow in Italy, gelato just seems to taste better". I was skeptical at first, but now I am in whole hearted agreement. I made it a... The best ice cream in Bologna with out a doubt. Maybe even ever! So smooth and creamy. And a great choice of flavours too.

We've had gelato everyday in Italy for 3 weeks and this was a stand out. Can't believe how lucky we were to stumble across it! If you visit Bologna you have to give this a try.

The gelato here was so amazing that we went back twice in 2 days. I definitely recommend the San Luca (white chocolate) flavour.

If you can make it here, this gelato is to die for!!! It is creamy, rich in flavor and utterly delicious. The flavours were in Italian but I know one was hazelnut - sooooo yummmyyyy!!!!!. Just park me at the counter and keep them coming. These were so good and I was making it my mission to try all the... More

What a fun hobby....enjoying the best gelato throughout Italy. We may have found it in Bologna at Cremeria Funivia (or at least a tie with Vivoli in Florence). Don't miss their gelato, and then a block away have an espresso or cocktails in the Piazza Galvani at a great cafe, Zanarini.

I think this place is in the top two or three ice cream places in the city. All of the flavours I've had have been exceptional, but the fruit flavours here are particularly good! The staff have always been friendly, polite and helpful when I've been, and are happy to help you make your choice if you want a recommendation.... More
