The bright modern interior and fabulous ice-creams attract the crowds despite being slightly off the main passegiata routes; but well worth the short detour into Piazza Cavour. At 11 PM on a warm September evening the queue stretched out of the door, across the pavement and into the road! But the service was quick and friendly. Unlike some gelaterie, La... More

There will be a queue in the entrance but don't worry because you will not be there enough time to choose your flavor! There were so many flavors that choosing is a very difficult task! There EN translation. You will have to come back 2 or 3 times to try the most attractive flavors. Very clean and fast service. The... More

I was told that this was the best gelato in bologna (by my food tour guide) and it did not disappoint. Delicious, creamy and flavorful! They also have great granitas - fresh, vibrant fruit flavors. Ok, maybe we tried a bit too many gelato shops on our recent trip. But this one was our favorite in terms of quality and favors. And the lines support our recommendation!

Good choice of flavours, quality products, long lines but moving fast, long opening hours 12-23:30,closed monday, a bit expensive for what it is but still worth trying when you are in the area.

Sat in the park opposite the Gelateria La Funivia, I began to wonder why ever other person in the park was eating gelato, so I followed the ice cream trail and found out... So many flavours, all of the standard Italian gelatos (done well, I might add) along with some unique ones. I tried a fair few flavours, some fresh,... More

We were with Italian friends in bologna and after dinner, we walked towards a gelato place for dessert. Our Italian friend stopped us, said "no,no,no. Follow me" and took us here. We had the pine nut gelato in a waffle cone...amazing & creamy. We came back for the rest of our trip. I've tried gelato all over Italy & this... More

I have had a lot of gelato on my four trips to Italy. This place was very good, but not as outstanding (in my opinion) as the ratings suggest. I have had better gelato in Florence, Rome and Milan--shops I can remember by name and location they were so good. While this place had a number of interesting flavors, the... More

Very good gelateria with a lot of unique flavours (ex. torti di funivia, cavour, caffè, ...). Very good strawberry also.

I'm going to go ahead and say it: this place is a little overrated. Granted, the ice cream here is good, and you almost certainly won't be disappointed if you decide to stop by. But Bologna is a city blessed with countless shops that scoop out excellent ice cream. Some may think this is common to all Italian cities, but... More
