Unassuming...

...little taverna with much to be unassuming about. We were booked in by a lovely receptionist at our hotel and told it was a great place to eat (possibly she is related to Roberto). Small portions, ridiculous and not good. Restaurant very expensive plus, with a deplorable service. The restaurant relies solely on the passing tourist, ill-advised as we, for hotels nearby.

It was suggested to go to Di Roberta by the woman at the front desk of our hotel. It was right around the corner and we had had no time to research. We loved the ambiance...it had more of a locals feel which we prefer. Everything was excellent, the food, the service, the menu, the wine. Go, you will love... More

I went in a recent visit to Bologna with my daughter and it was rather disapointing. I had a lassagna bolognesa and my daughter had rombo al forno (oven-baked fish). Considering the prices, my lassagna was rather small; her portion was just adequate. But both dishes were tasteless. The service was OK but a bit slow; the decoration was nice.... More

Even though I had dome research on restaurants ahead of time, we were tired when we arrived at the Aemilia Hotel and asked for a nearby dinner reservation. La Taverna Di Roberto is small, and it was crowded, so we were kind of packed in -- and it was very warm, which was uncomfortable. But -- the food was great.... More

Have been in Bologna 4 months and have seen this place before but not gone in. Finally had dinner here and what a lovely surprise. The building is so old and beautifully finished. The downstairs room would be a must for a private function or other and I don't understand what a previous poster meant when bagging the downstairs room.... More

Even they broke our wine bottle, they didn't care about it not so much- no extra glass of wine and no discount- and we were remained in bad feeling from the beginning of the dinner. The price for the plates doesn't suit for the quality of the taste. It's just normal taste and too expensive. 40 euros for the normal... More

Went here on hotel recommendation. Restaurant was empty when we arrived but we were walked through the restaurant and shown to a basement room with no windows (presumably set aside for tourists so you can't see what the locals are eating). Food was overpriced and really not very good, portions were tiny and there is no house wine available so... More

I am a lasagna fool, loving it in all its many forms and flavors. Here, I enjoyed Roberto's green (spinach) lasagna (yum), while my wife enjoyed her turbot with roasted potatoes, tomatoes, and olives. We finished with a dark chocolate crust with fruit. What's not to like?

This is an excellent little taverna in the centre of Bologna. It was recommended by our hotel on the evening we arrived. The staff were courteous & attentive, the maitre''s english was quite good which is always a help. The food & wine (good selection by the glass) were both excellent. The Cotoletta ala Bolognese was superb & recommended. We... More
